This memorandum summarizes the results of an environmental compliance assessment and audit conducted of NSS Fencing located in the Contractor Yard at Fort Hood, Texas. SUBJECT: Environmental Compliance Assessment and Environmental Management
System (EMS) Audit of NSS Fencing located in the Contractor Yard
1. References:
a. Fort Hood Regulation 200-1, Environment and Natural Resources,
15 Jul 04.
b. International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004(E), EMS.
2. Purpose: To assess environmental readiness and gauge compliance standards
associated with environmental protection IAW FH Reg 200-1. The assessment also
includes an audit of conformance with Fort Hood’s EMS IAW ISO 14001:2004(E).
3. The results of this assessment and audit will be compiled with the remaining Fort
Hood Activities as an overall roll-up of the Installation and sent to the III Corps Chief of
Staff.
4. On 2 Jul 12, Dale Frederick, Directorate of Public Works (DPW), Environmental
Compliance Assessment Team, conducted a formal environmental compliance
assessment and audit of the EMS at NSS Fencing located in the Contractor Yard. The
assessment is designed to ensure the facilities are in compliance with Fort Hood
regulations. The EMS audit is designed to ensure that the facilities conform to Fort
Hood’s EMS, which promotes environmental performance beyond compliance.
5. Mr. Paul Batcha, is doing a commendable job maintaining environmental standards
within his footprint.
