This memorandum summarizes the results of an environmental compliance assessment and audit conducted of NSS Fencing located in the Contractor Yard at Fort Hood, Texas. The assessment was conducted on July 2, 2012 to ensure the facility's compliance with Fort Hood regulations on environmental protection. No discrepancies were found in hazardous materials, pollution prevention, air, water, or solid waste and recycling. With a cumulative rating of 100%, the compliance status was marked as "green." The audit also found the facility to be in conformance with Fort Hood's Environmental Management System and identified no areas of nonconformance. The memorandum recommends continuing to communicate environmental policies and incorporate sustainability goals into daily operations.

SUBJECT: Environmental Compliance Assessment and Environmental Management
System (EMS) Audit of NSS Fencing located in the Contractor Yard
1. References:
a. Fort Hood Regulation 200-1, Environment and Natural Resources,

b. International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2004(E), EMS.
2. Purpose: To assess environmental readiness and gauge compliance standards
associated with environmental protection IAW FH Reg 200-1. The assessment also
includes an audit of conformance with Fort Hood’s EMS IAW ISO 14001:2004(E).
3. The results of this assessment and audit will be compiled with the remaining Fort
Hood Activities as an overall roll-up of the Installation and sent to the III Corps Chief of
Staff.
4. On 2 Jul 12, Dale Frederick, Directorate of Public Works (DPW), Environmental
Compliance Assessment Team, conducted a formal environmental compliance
assessment and audit of the EMS at NSS Fencing located in the Contractor Yard. The
assessment is designed to ensure the facilities are in compliance with Fort Hood
regulations. The EMS audit is designed to ensure that the facilities conform to Fort
Hood’s EMS, which promotes environmental performance beyond compliance.
5. Mr. Paul Batcha, is doing a commendable job maintaining environmental standards
within his footprint.
