to prevent disease. But we

the communities we serve –

and wellbeing.

Children, families, and communities
We are a pediatric practice, so of course our patients are
children. We do all we can to keep them healthy, to teach them
to keep themselves healthy, and to inspire a lifelong lifestyle of
health. But of course, children grow up in families, and in many
ways, we must also care about and for the families of our
patients. We have also realized that to broaden our impact on
the health of our patients and our community, we have to
consider ways to inspire health beyond the patients in our
practice.
One word summarizes this purpose: LOVE
10. We love children.
We believe in them. We want them to have the
very best and brightest future, to achieve all their
hopes and dreams. We believe that children are a
blessing from God and our heritage (Psalm
127:3), and we exist to do everything we can to
ensure that they become healthy, happy adults,
reach their fullest potential, and go on to raise
another generation of healthy, happy children
themselves.

16. What’s in a name?
Is healthcare a covenant or contract?
Though the word covenant is a
biblical term, it has a long history
in medical ethics. A covenant is a
solemn promise or vow to give
and to serve a fellow human
being.
For centuries, many
have believed that the
doctor-patient
relationship is, or should
be, much more of a
covenant than a
contract.
17. That’s why doctors take, or at least used
to take, an oath, swearing among other
things to serve patients and to put the
needs of patients first above all things.
So is healthcare a contract or a covenant?
Maybe our name makes it clear what we
believe.

covenant with our patients.

Our primary value is Patients First. The needs of the patient are primary in
everything that we do. They must come first, before our own personal needs or
the needs of our practice.
20. EXCELLENCE
We are fanatical about excellence and continuous improvement in everything
we do, from the care we provide to how we provide it, in every interaction and
every little detail of our practice. Excellence is the foundation of all we do
because we ultimately seek to honor God in all that we do (Colossians 3:17).
21. CARING
We are all human; each of us is made in the image of God, and all people –
patients, families, employees, and everyone we encounter – deserve to be
treated with dignity and respect, empathy and compassion. Our goal is to care
for children and their families in a way that we would want our own families to
be cared for (Matthew 7:12).

We are here to serve others: our patients and families, our team, and our
community. Our goal is to make a difference in every life we touch, and for
every child and family to have the very best patient experience possible. We
strive to serve our neighbor as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31) and to go above and
