ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Senior Project Micromouse Competition
Role: Software Coder/Debugger and Website Manager
● Coded and created an autonomous micromouse robot that navigated within a 16 x 16 unit maze (18 cm x 18 cm unit square)
and without any physical help.
● Used MPLabX to code in C and develop the functions that helped the micromouse turn left or right 90 degrees, go straight
without hitting walls, make 180 degree turns and learn/solve the maze in its microcontroller memory.
● Coded and created a full website that is used for our engineering team (raed.sdsu.edu).
Individual Project Music Box
Role: Coder/Debugger using an FPGA Development Board
● Coded and created a music program with a Xilinx Spartan 6 FPGA Development Board.
● The music box changed the pitch of a constant musical tone supplied by the FPGA. Output went into a single input speaker in
conjunction with a 470 microFarad capacitor. Changed pitch by FPGA integrated switches.
Engineering Team Project Socket Program Using Unix Domain
Role: Designed three programs two client programs and one server program.
● Overall task was to create a server that transmits given values to two clients all compiled and executed within a Unix terminal.
● The server printed the original values that it received and the modified values (before and after).
● The server had the ability to create a socket, bind the socket, listen/accept connection, and then transmit the data. The client
programs created a socket, connected the socket to the address of the server and then transmit the data to it.
