4. Time Management for Studying
• Check your syllabus for the specific class and find out when your first test is
• Start planning backwards to how far out you need to begin your readings,
reviewing notes, visiting teacher for extra help, etc.
• i.e. have four chapters to read? Leave yourself two weeks or more (or however long it takes you to read)
• Determine your ideal studying time- When are you most productive?
Night? Mornings? Afternoon?
• Create a study plan by making a list of what you need to study: class notes,
readings, problem sets, assignments, etc.
• Pay attention to what your instructor stresses as important for the test. Did
they not say anything? ASK!
5. 1. Don’t Cram!
• Less likely to remember material
• It’s not a fun & you experience a lot
of stress
• You’ll look a mess because you
won’t get any sleep
2. Find the “Key” spot to study
• Somewhere with little distractions
(no TV, video games, sports, etc.)
• Somewhere quiet
• Somewhere comfortable- but not too
comfortable ;)

6. 3. Get your hands on the treasure
• See if “nice” professors will give
you a previous exam
• Pay attention to the Study Guide or
Study Questions- if given to you.
These are clutch!
4. Important vs. Unimportant info
• Look at your notes and pay keen
attention to topics your professor
spent a lot of time on
• A few notes = not that important

• Studying for multiple tests is not
a good way to remember info
• Having one web browser open for
studying, and the other five for
entertainment is NOT STUDYING
