Microsoft Access Exercise Microsoft Access provides many functions for end users. While working in IT Support, many different situations may
present from customers phoning in and requesting information or assistance. Following are three different situations that may be presented at a support
desk. First, we will examine a veterinarian who wants to use MicrosoftВ® AccessВ® for his business, and has some questions regarding the functions
of Access. Second, a man created a database to inventory his customers' past due accounts to ensure that he receives payment. Third, a user has been

Access to Health Care Essay
Access to Health Care Access to health care refers to the individual's ability to obtain and use needed services (Ellis & Hartley, 2008). Access to
health care affects a multitude of people. Uninsured, underinsured, elderly, lower socioeconomic class, minorities, and people that live in remote areas
are at the highest risk for lack of access to health care. There are also economical and political roles that complicate access to health care. Access to
health care is a multi–faceted concept involving geographic, economics, or sociocultural issues. With my extensive research on access to health care, I
hope to provide influences regarding; who is affected by lack of access, geographic, economic, sociocultural access, and...show more content...
The growing concern regarding the financial security of Medicare is one of particular interest to the nearly 72 million baby boomers that become
eligible for this government–assisted, and tax–payer bolstered, program over the next two decades. According to the U.S. Census Bureau (2010), there
will be a rapid increase in baby–boomers between 2010 and 2030, as the entire baby boomer population move into the 65 years and over category
(p.3). Political and financial revisions must be made to ensure the security of Medicare as the numbers of individuals paying into this program are
soon to be surpassed by the number of individuals drawing–off this program (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). The elderly are also at a disadvantage with
transportation to health care visits, picking up prescriptions, and rehabilitation services. There needs to be an establishment of access not only to
primary care providers, hospitals, and rehabilitation services, but access to other aspects of the health care system for the elderly population.
Sociocultural differences, according to Ellis and Hartley (2008), also affect access. If a patient feels uncomfortable in a health care setting related to
their socioeconomic status or they feel their beliefs are not respected, they are hesitant to use services provided (Ellis & Hartley, 2008). Awareness and
sensitivity to different lifestyles and beliefs can lessen misconceptions and minimize

Access Control Research Paper
An access control example in my community is doors. Having a lock door, will cover access to your home, which is one of the first steps in
securing your home. A properly set up fence, will make it even more difficult for someone to roam in your yard. If someone you do not know is
inside your fence, it can easily alert you that a potential problem is arriving. Shrubs are another factor in access control. Shrubs can make it very
difficult for someone to view inside your home. There are shrubs that can grow up to 15 to 20 feet height. Having many shrubs in your yard can
make access to your home feel more of a challenge, which is how a lot of homes in my community are set up. Natural surveillance example is windows.
Windows not only protect you from the weather but it helps with...show more content...
This dictates distance from someone's property. Landscaping helps with making private and public areas separate from each other. Porches are cover
areas for individuals. This can be in the back of someone's home or in front. Porches helps with adding another element a criminal has deal with and a
home owner having another safety aspect part of his or her home. Every home in my community has a front and back porch.
All of these measure are very effective in my community. Cops are not around my community 24/7 or anybody else's community. These different
elements and the examples I provided helps my community run smoothly because of the different affect each example brings. Some CPTED strategies
that could help my community is using the environment around my community from trees, light poles, and shrubs and placing cameras around or

officers solve cases or possibly stop things from happing in the first

Access of Care Essay
1)What is access of care?
Access of care can be defined as the capability to obtain affordable, convenient, acceptable, effective and mostly needed healthcare assistances at the
right time. According to healthy people 2020, access to care is the appropriate use of healthcare amenities for a person to attain the best possible health
condition. This include entry to a health care system, access to appropriate locations with needed services, and contacting a health care provider who
can be trusted ("Access," 2013).
Access to care constitutes of five measurements such as availability, accessibility, accommodation, affordability, and acceptability. This means
acceptable and affordable health services should be available to required persons at...show more content...
(Shi & Singh, 2008, p. 508–513).
Availability of health care services is an important dimension in access to health care. Providers are expected to deliver quality care to patients when
it is needed. They should be able to provide care to everyone based on their needs. For instance, Spanish speaking elderly people expect some one who
knows their language in their physician's office. Language barrier can cause lot of issues such as conveying wrong message about a patients or
physicians. Effective communication is essential for physicians and clients to explain and understand each other. There are patients who cannot make it
their physician's office due to lack of transportation. This can negatively affect their health status. An example would be patients who miss their
dialysis due to lack of transportation.
3). How do affordability, physical accessibility (delivery), and acceptability (quality) of services affect access of care?
Affordability refers to the clients' ability to pay for health care services provided. Affordability is directly related to thehealth insurance plans.
Individuals with good health insurance plans are able get better health care services. But the co–payments and out of pocket expenses are still causing
problems to the insurers. For example, majority of elderly people have to take supplemental insurance with their Medicare plan to get better services.

The Benefits of The Internet
Thinking about the internet reminds me of something that was said in my history class. My professor was lecturing about the early colonies in
America and how the men of that time had to sail up and down coasts in order to make maps. They had to actually draw these landscapes as they
saw them. This process would sometimes take years to accomplish. I realized that the technology our ancestors used could today be accomplished in
seconds versus years. I have access, at the touch of a button, to maps from satellites miles above the earth. I can go shopping without ever moving my
legs and communicate with friends and family all over the world, which was once nearly impossible. What an advantage I have over...show more

Roswell is a city that I really have trouble with in this area, every building looks the same and all the roads sound the same. If it weren't for the
directions that I received in Travelocity.com I would have never made it to pick up my prom dress last year. With school and work filling most of my
schedule anything that saves me time is a lifesaver. Therefore I shop on the internet as much as possible. For instance, when I was in high school, I
hated having to drive to a book store to acquire my summer reading books. I once spent a whole day searching for one book at several different
book stores all over town and the town next to mine; only to find out that almost every kid in my grade, and at every school in the surrounding
counties was buying and looking for the same books. All of us were buying out and harassing the clerks for theses books at stores such as Barnes and
Nobles, local bookstores such as Jillian's Books, and Walden Books. What a waste of time! There is so much merchandise , like my books, that can be
purchased over the internet. E–Bay is also a place where everyday people buy and sell personal items and equipment. My brother, Ben, loves E–Bay
because this is where he finds accessories to his 1972 master craft boat which he is re–building. E–Bay has introduced him to a whole new world of
shopping. With out it he would still be searching for the limited items that he has

Access To Justice Essay
The concept of access to justice embodies the formal conception on one side, and substantive conception on the other. The formal conception of
access to justice is considered to indicate abilities of people to have access to courts of law and other tribunals in a reasonable and effective manner
coupled with the opportunity to receive legal services from qualified professionals. Access to justice in this way embraces the concept of the equality
before the law which is the foundation of human rights protection, and protects the poor and the vulnerable from deprivation and violation of their
rights. The substantive conception of access to justice, on the other hand, refers to people's ability to attain a substantive legal outcome. The substantive

They state that access to justice directs at the impeachments of barriers that confront people living in poverty from utilizing the legal system in
the form of three "waves". The first wave entailed the emergence of legal aid in the developed countries in the period after the Second World War.
This wave intended to provide direct legal services to economically disadvantaged persons involved in the justice system. More recently, the United
Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers (Knaul, A/HRC/23/43, 15 March 2013) state that legal aid seeks to
eradicate the barriers which impede access to justice by providing assistance to those who would not otherwise have been able to afford legal
representation and access to the court system (Knaul, A/HRC/23/43, 15 March 2013, para. 27). To be more specific, the right to legal aid refers to
both a right and an essential guarantee for the effective exercise of other human rights including the right to an effective remedy, the right to equality
before the courts and tribunals, the right to counsel and the right to a fair trial (Knaul, A/HRC/23/43, 15 March 2013, para.

Health Care Access Essay
Our last Discussion Question in this class will focus on the topic of "health care access". Please answer the following questions:
1.Should all world citizens have free (no cost) access to basic health care, or should nations have the right to limit access to health care based on their
societal values and goals?
This question has been asked for many generations and even in present times this is a very controversial topic but, this is what I believe. The key word
here is "basic" so yes basic health care should be a right for all citizens in the world at not cost; no one should be limited from this human right base
on social values or goals and not only that, it just makes common sense for the government to provide basic health care in order...show more content...
Another reason that comes to mind is more government spending at the end. Let me clarify this, when someone has at least basic health care
which in some cases it is also called preventive health care they have the option to go and get help in case of health issues before they get worse
and expensive, now if a person does not have any type of basic health care he/she it is going to wait till the last minute to go and get help because of
the cost, given that health care center cannot deny health care to anyone consequently whatever services they provide to the patient has a cost that
many times cannot be covered by the patient therefore who is responsible for that ... we can say the government but governments do not have their
own money they just manage and distribute the money collected from people who pay taxes or us. What it comes down to is, at least with some
basic care I do believe everyone will have some kind of an option without it health care becomes services become a burden for someone else.
3. Analyze your response above and decide what type(s) of ethical thinking you used. Did you use deontological, consequentialist, or virtue ethics?
Based on my analysis, I believe I used "Virtue Ethics"
4. Explain why your answer demonstrates this ethical view, or views, if you used more than one. Because I am not saying that is my duty to bring
health care to everyone in order to bring good to the world. I am just a person that has a

Essay on Access to Mental Health
Access to Health Care: The Mental Health Population
Mental health services ended up being far from reached by patients with primary psychiatric disorders. Mental health care means not only improving
access but also improving clinical quality and ensuring cultural competence. It is the ability to treat and support programs to encounter individuals on
personal terms and in methods that are customarily aware.
Access to mental health care is not as good as than other forms of medical services. Some Americans have reduced access to mental health care
amenities because they are living in a countryside setting. Others cannot get to treatment for the reason of shortage of transportation or vast work and
household tasks. In some areas, when a...show more content...
CHOICES Attributes The potency of this process includes using peer provided services. Using peer advisors helps fight the stigma connected with
mental illness and tobacco use. Other advantages of a peer–to–peer intervention would be the shared encounters of customers, who understand mental
illness and also the challenges that accompany it. Not remarkably, people who smoke felt it simpler to speak to a peer counselor about tobacco than
the physician or mental health counselor. In the Robert Wood Manley School Of Medicine, CHOICES has already established strong close ties with
the Mental Health Association and Condition Division of Mental Health Services in New Jersey (Williams et al., 2011). These close ties have led
towards the rapid growth and success of CHOICES.

The goal |with the advocacy program ended up being to describe the introduction of someone advocacy program inside the Eastern surrounding suburbs

Access To Justice
With the demise of the apartheid in 1994 and the implementation of the Constitution in 1996, it brought with it the concept of access to justice for all
citizens of South Africa. The notion itself has developed and evolved beyond the preconceived idea of access to courts but encompasses one's access
to legal and state services, social, economic and environmental justice as well.
Although Section 34 of the Constitution provides that anyone with a dispute may seek justice by bringing the dispute to court with Section 35, from
which Legal Aid South Africa derived its mandate, enforcing that those arrested, detained or accused has the right to a fair trial which includes the
right to have a legal practitioner assigned by the State and at the expense of the State, justice is tied directly to political and economic position, power
and wealth. Thus, for many South African people, poor and or working–class, access to justice is an occasional...show more content...
In this sense, emphasis was placed on the rehabilitation of first–time offenders by making use of the NICRO program.
Moreover, the notion of access to justice went as far as access to education for those unaware of their legal rights and duties. When the question of the
quality of Legal Aid attorneys was raised, the Justice commented that private attorneys are often unprepared as they do not consult their clients. Or they
make use of stall tactics to increase their service fees.
Another issue raised was the ignorance of one's rights being as a contributor to the lack of access to justice for many people. It is understood that
people do not seek redress on account of being unaware of their rights provided in the Bill of Rights. Conversely, multiple offenders who are more
acquainted with the law, find loopholes when committing their

Primary Care Access Essay
Primary Care Access
In today's health care environment many factors contribute to quality care. As a medical practice manager it is important to provide the best medical
service for patients in addition to excellent levels of service. Appointment scheduling is a very important aspect of a smooth running medical practice.
Appointment cancellation, no shows, and long waiting time by patients have a negative impact on the efficient running of the practice not only in lost
revenue but the practices professional reputation as well (Kruse 2010).
Goals
To improve services at the ABCPhysician Practice Group, we decided to analyze appointment scheduling to increase patient access to the providers.
This was achieved by measuring the Third...show more content...
The 3NA system is also easy to measure and compare to other practices (Solomon 2003).
The average length of time that patients make a request for an appointment and the days between the times of the appointment day is used for third
available appointments which include new patients, routine exams and return visits. By using the third next available rather than the next available
appointment provides a more accurate indication of appointment availability. According to the Institute for Health Improvement (2011), An
appointment may be open at the time of a request because of a cancellation or other unexpected event. Using the "third next available" appointment
eliminates these chance occurrences from the measure of availability (para. 1).
The main goal of using and measuring patient appointment flow is to "decrease number of days to third next available appointment to zero days"
(Para. 2). Appointments for primary care will be the same day and for specialty care the decreased number of days will be 2 days. According to
Solomon (2003) the process for scheduling the third available appointment includes the following:
Analytical Tool Used
One method that is use to analyze processes is the Shewhart cycle of plan–do–study–act (PDSA). The team decided to use PDSA to analyze the Third

  • 3. Access to Health Care Essay Access to Health Care Access to health care refers to the individual's ability to obtain and use needed services (Ellis & Hartley, 2008). Access to health care affects a multitude of people. Uninsured, underinsured, elderly, lower socioeconomic class, minorities, and people that live in remote areas are at the highest risk for lack of access to health care. There are also economical and political roles that complicate access to health care. Access to health care is a multi–faceted concept involving geographic, economics, or sociocultural issues. With my extensive research on access to health care, I hope to provide influences regarding; who is affected by lack of access, geographic, economic, sociocultural access, and...show more content... The growing concern regarding the financial security of Medicare is one of particular interest to the nearly 72 million baby boomers that become eligible for this government–assisted, and tax–payer bolstered, program over the next two decades. According to the U.S. Census Bureau (2010), there will be a rapid increase in baby–boomers between 2010 and 2030, as the entire baby boomer population move into the 65 years and over category (p.3). Political and financial revisions must be made to ensure the security of Medicare as the numbers of individuals paying into this program are soon to be surpassed by the number of individuals drawing–off this program (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). The elderly are also at a disadvantage with transportation to health care visits, picking up prescriptions, and rehabilitation services. There needs to be an establishment of access not only to primary care providers, hospitals, and rehabilitation services, but access to other aspects of the health care system for the elderly population. Sociocultural differences, according to Ellis and Hartley (2008), also affect access. If a patient feels uncomfortable in a health care setting related to their socioeconomic status or they feel their beliefs are not respected, they are hesitant to use services provided (Ellis & Hartley, 2008). Awareness and sensitivity to different lifestyles and beliefs can lessen misconceptions and minimize Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Access Control Research Paper An access control example in my community is doors. Having a lock door, will cover access to your home, which is one of the first steps in securing your home. A properly set up fence, will make it even more difficult for someone to roam in your yard. If someone you do not know is inside your fence, it can easily alert you that a potential problem is arriving. Shrubs are another factor in access control. Shrubs can make it very difficult for someone to view inside your home. There are shrubs that can grow up to 15 to 20 feet height. Having many shrubs in your yard can make access to your home feel more of a challenge, which is how a lot of homes in my community are set up. Natural surveillance example is windows. • 5. Access of Care Essay 1)What is access of care? Access of care can be defined as the capability to obtain affordable, convenient, acceptable, effective and mostly needed healthcare assistances at the right time. According to healthy people 2020, access to care is the appropriate use of healthcare amenities for a person to attain the best possible health condition. This include entry to a health care system, access to appropriate locations with needed services, and contacting a health care provider who can be trusted ("Access," 2013). Access to care constitutes of five measurements such as availability, accessibility, accommodation, affordability, and acceptability. This means acceptable and affordable health services should be available to required persons at...show more content... (Shi & Singh, 2008, p. 508–513). Availability of health care services is an important dimension in access to health care. Providers are expected to deliver quality care to patients when it is needed. They should be able to provide care to everyone based on their needs. For instance, Spanish speaking elderly people expect some one who knows their language in their physician's office. Language barrier can cause lot of issues such as conveying wrong message about a patients or physicians. Effective communication is essential for physicians and clients to explain and understand each other. There are patients who cannot make it their physician's office due to lack of transportation. This can negatively affect their health status. An example would be patients who miss their dialysis due to lack of transportation. 3). How do affordability, physical accessibility (delivery), and acceptability (quality) of services affect access of care? Affordability refers to the clients' ability to pay for health care services provided. Affordability is directly related to thehealth insurance plans. Individuals with good health insurance plans are able get better health care services. But the co–payments and out of pocket expenses are still causing problems to the insurers. For example, majority of elderly people have to take supplemental insurance with their Medicare plan to get better services. Only Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Benefits of The Internet Thinking about the internet reminds me of something that was said in my history class. My professor was lecturing about the early colonies in America and how the men of that time had to sail up and down coasts in order to make maps. They had to actually draw these landscapes as they saw them. This process would sometimes take years to accomplish. I realized that the technology our ancestors used could today be accomplished in seconds versus years. I have access, at the touch of a button, to maps from satellites miles above the earth. Roswell is a city that I really have trouble with in this area, every building looks the same and all the roads sound the same. If it weren't for the directions that I received in Travelocity.com I would have never made it to pick up my prom dress last year. With school and work filling most of my schedule anything that saves me time is a lifesaver. Therefore I shop on the internet as much as possible. For instance, when I was in high school, I hated having to drive to a book store to acquire my summer reading books. I once spent a whole day searching for one book at several different book stores all over town and the town next to mine; only to find out that almost every kid in my grade, and at every school in the surrounding counties was buying and looking for the same books. All of us were buying out and harassing the clerks for theses books at stores such as Barnes and Nobles, local bookstores such as Jillian's Books, and Walden Books. What a waste of time! There is so much merchandise , like my books, that can be purchased over the internet. E–Bay is also a place where everyday people buy and sell personal items and equipment. My brother, Ben, loves E–Bay because this is where he finds accessories to his 1972 master craft boat which he is re–building. E–Bay has introduced him to a whole new world of shopping. • 7. Access To Justice Essay The concept of access to justice embodies the formal conception on one side, and substantive conception on the other. The formal conception of access to justice is considered to indicate abilities of people to have access to courts of law and other tribunals in a reasonable and effective manner coupled with the opportunity to receive legal services from qualified professionals. Access to justice in this way embraces the concept of the equality before the law which is the foundation of human rights protection, and protects the poor and the vulnerable from deprivation and violation of their rights. The substantive conception of access to justice, on the other hand, refers to people's ability to attain a substantive legal outcome. The substantive ...show more content... They state that access to justice directs at the impeachments of barriers that confront people living in poverty from utilizing the legal system in the form of three "waves". The first wave entailed the emergence of legal aid in the developed countries in the period after the Second World War. This wave intended to provide direct legal services to economically disadvantaged persons involved in the justice system. More recently, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Independence of Judges and Lawyers (Knaul, A/HRC/23/43, 15 March 2013) state that legal aid seeks to eradicate the barriers which impede access to justice by providing assistance to those who would not otherwise have been able to afford legal representation and access to the court system (Knaul, A/HRC/23/43, 15 March 2013, para. 27). To be more specific, the right to legal aid refers to both a right and an essential guarantee for the effective exercise of other human rights including the right to an effective remedy, the right to equality before the courts and tribunals, the right to counsel and the right to a fair trial (Knaul, A/HRC/23/43, 15 March 2013, para. • 8. Health Care Access Essay Our last Discussion Question in this class will focus on the topic of "health care access". Please answer the following questions: 1.Should all world citizens have free (no cost) access to basic health care, or should nations have the right to limit access to health care based on their societal values and goals? This question has been asked for many generations and even in present times this is a very controversial topic but, this is what I believe. The key word here is "basic" so yes basic health care should be a right for all citizens in the world at not cost; no one should be limited from this human right base on social values or goals and not only that, it just makes common sense for the government to provide basic health care in order...show more content... Another reason that comes to mind is more government spending at the end. Let me clarify this, when someone has at least basic health care which in some cases it is also called preventive health care they have the option to go and get help in case of health issues before they get worse and expensive, now if a person does not have any type of basic health care he/she it is going to wait till the last minute to go and get help because of the cost, given that health care center cannot deny health care to anyone consequently whatever services they provide to the patient has a cost that many times cannot be covered by the patient therefore who is responsible for that ... we can say the government but governments do not have their own money they just manage and distribute the money collected from people who pay taxes or us. What it comes down to is, at least with some basic care I do believe everyone will have some kind of an option without it health care becomes services become a burden for someone else. 3. Analyze your response above and decide what type(s) of ethical thinking you used. Did you use deontological, consequentialist, or virtue ethics? Based on my analysis, I believe I used "Virtue Ethics" 4. Explain why your answer demonstrates this ethical view, or views, if you used more than one. Because I am not saying that is my duty to bring health care to everyone in order to bring good to the world. I am just a person that has a Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Mental health care means not only improving access but also improving clinical quality and ensuring cultural competence. It is the ability to treat and support programs to encounter individuals on personal terms and in methods that are customarily aware. Access to mental health care is not as good as than other forms of medical services. Not remarkably, people who smoke felt it simpler to speak to a peer counselor about tobacco than the physician or mental health counselor. In the Robert Wood Manley School Of Medicine, CHOICES has already established strong close ties with the Mental Health Association and Condition Division of Mental Health Services in New Jersey (Williams et al., 2011). • 13. Access To Justice With the demise of the apartheid in 1994 and the implementation of the Constitution in 1996, it brought with it the concept of access to justice for all citizens of South Africa. The notion itself has developed and evolved beyond the preconceived idea of access to courts but encompasses one's access to legal and state services, social, economic and environmental justice as well. Although Section 34 of the Constitution provides that anyone with a dispute may seek justice by bringing the dispute to court with Section 35, from which Legal Aid South Africa derived its mandate, enforcing that those arrested, detained or accused has the right to a fair trial which includes the right to have a legal practitioner assigned by the State and at the expense of the State, justice is tied directly to political and economic position, power and wealth. Or they make use of stall tactics to increase their service fees. Another issue raised was the ignorance of one's rights being as a contributor to the lack of access to justice for many people. As a medical practice manager it is important to provide the best medical service for patients in addition to excellent levels of service. Appointment cancellation, no shows, and long waiting time by patients have a negative impact on the efficient running of the practice not only in lost revenue but the practices professional reputation as well (Kruse 2010). The average length of time that patients make a request for an appointment and the days between the times of the appointment day is used for third available appointments which include new patients, routine exams and return visits. By using the third next available rather than the next available appointment provides a more accurate indication of appointment availability. According to the Institute for Health Improvement (2011), An appointment may be open at the time of a request because of a cancellation or other unexpected event. Using the "third next available" appointment eliminates these chance occurrences from the measure of availability (para. 1). The main goal of using and measuring patient appointment flow is to "decrease number of days to third next available appointment to zero days" (Para. 2). Appointments for primary care will be the same day and for specialty care the decreased number of days will be 2 days. According to Solomon (2003) the process for scheduling the third available appointment includes the following: Analytical Tool Used One method that is use to analyze processes is the Shewhart cycle of plan–do–study–act (PDSA).
