Ecg Reflection
When I arrive to the facility this morning I was informed that one of the patients had passed away during the night, which was quite sad. Today I
was in the acute ward all day and was able to watch the RN perform an ECG on a man that was bought in via ambulance who was complaining of
chest pain. I watched as she placed the ECG leads on different positions of the chest. The RN showed me what a normal heart rate should look like.
I also went around the ward taking OBS and notice that one of the patient's O2 levels were very low at 73%, the RN then gave the patient some
ventolin through a mask to increase oxygen levels and they rose to 95%. The RN also showed me the medication charts and how they are to be read. I
went around with her watching

English 101 Reflective Essay
English class has never been my strong suite. I always had to work twice as hard in English then I did in any other class. Writing paper always had
me stressed and overwhelmed, I felt discouraged in my work. l never seemed to be able to get to the level I wanted to. I would try my hardest and
paid attention in class, but when it came to writing the paper none of that seemed to help. I think that my experience in English Composition 1 has
helped gain and grow in some areas, but I don't think that it highlights a well–written college essay. Some elements that I worked to improving was
introduction paragraphs, tone, style, and thesis statements. Throughout my experience in English 101, I gained information on the element...show more

During high school, I seemed to get marked done for the tone used in my paper. I learned in this class that tone is a very important element in
writing a paper, and can help the paper flow better. My sentences in my high school papers didn't vary in length very well then. I always had a
problem with short choppy sentences. When writing my profile essay, research easy, and personal essay I tried to make sure I had a variety of
sentence lengths. I feel I gained some improve on this element, I know I still have issues but I have grown from where I was before. Some papers
were stronger than others and I struggled a bit more when constructing my paragraphs. My strongest paper in tone I would feel was my Personal
essay. "She wants them to believe they can do whatever their hearts desire but they have to be willing to work for it. As a mother, it's important to
work with your kids and help them discover how they learn best. It's important to teach your kids that there are going to be certain things that they
have to be willing to work harder at" (Profile Essay). During my essay writing process, I could fix these problems easier in the body paragraphs and
struggle a bit more with the intro paragraph. Overall I think that the element of tone was not my best work in my

Reflective Essay On Science
The lesson that I'm going to focus on is really has to do with science for my first grade students. My focus will be to help them gain and comprehend
the knowledge that's needed to while we observe the difference between the sun and the moon, the students will be exploring the difference in each of
the objects, determining which one is heavy or light. They will have a questionnaire sheet to write down any questions that they may have. Giving the
students the hands–on experiences is allowing them to understand even though their opposites, how their still used for comparison. In addition, the
students will have to work as a team organizing the objects, labeling any events that they find and learn their vocabulary words. This lesson plan has a
mixture of a few subjects for them, like Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Science. This content includes the student's having to ask and answer
questions about details in a text, having to research, prompt and support their answers, remember important details with help from their group, respond
to questions from their peers, be able to write a complete report, and get information or clarity on the details that they didn't comprehend. This lesson is
exciting and fun, the students are learning specific details about the sun and moon, how much their related, but very different in many ways, their
learning how to blend their vocabulary together to help them read and comprehend better and demonstrate their interest in writing to

Essay On Academic Reflection
Education is ingrained in our lives; we are as a society born to learn. The ability to reflect on this habitual learning is what separates an honors mindset
from the average. Reflection occurs continuously and effortlessly, as though peering into a looking glass. I reflect in order to increase my potential as a
learner and become an honors student. Evaluating my past, present, and future education ultimately will unlock my fullest potential for true academic
reflection.
My past education experience, defined as, elementary through high school, was filled with opportunities of growth and promises of success. From
elementary to middle school, I was led by a spark to learn. I wanted to accomplish many tasks, wanted to learn as much and as deeply as I could, I
wanted to succeed with hard work. At this age level, I was displaying a growth mindset, and many key characteristics of Angela Maiers' habitudes. The
most prominent example of this display was my eighth–grade year as it was the first time I ever truly struggled academically in my life. I was in my
eight–grade math class with Mr. Pfitzner, at the time the bane of my existence, and I did not understand a thing. It seemed like all my hard work
was for nothing, that I would never be able to overcome this obstacle. For a moment, I was able to see how easily a slip from a growth mindset to a
fixed mindset could be. As I slowly slipped into the fixed mindset, I remember asking myself if this is how I want to learn. This challenge

In the beginning of English 10179 I dreaded any type of writing. I have never been a strong writer from the beginning. English has always been my
worst subject because I feel as though when I write, I write simple and basic. My biggest weakness in writing has always been expanding my thoughts,
adding detail into my writing, and citing sources. For example, before I took this course, my writing was as boring and bland as, "The dog ran away."
That may have been a slight exaggeration, but in all seriousness, I had no idea what I was doing when I was writing. In my first essay I used the
sentence, "I classified two people in this world, celebrities and normal people." Sentences like this have been found in several of my papers over and
over again. Every time I tried to write a paper I felt as though I could not expand my paper long enough to make it interesting. Though this English
course has been one of the hardest classes I have taken, it is also one of the only classes that has taught me so much in such a short amount time. After
reading my graded papers, I have learned to take out these overly vague sentences, stretch them, and add significant detail. This class has pushed...show

Consequently, finding strong resources can be one of the hardest tasks to accomplish. When I first started to research, I became overwhelmed as to
what to research, how to cite sources properly, and how to make sure the research fits in correctly. After using tutorials regarding "keywords" and
"Topics," I found researching a topic easier to manage. However, I still found it extremely challenging to incorporate research into a story without it
sounding uncomfortably awkward. I was nervous to write a paper that would be hard to follow, because as a reader I find it extremely hard to stay
focused on a paper containing material that is difficult to relate

Reflective Essay
Reflecting on your learning through writing is a very effective way to show what you know and understand. As a future teacher, you will be
constantly reflecting on the students in your classroom, your teaching, and what you could do differently next time. To help you begin to develop this
reflective practice this semester as you write about the things you learned from your readings, your own experiences as a writer, and your classroom
experiences with your peers.
The purpose of this assignment is to help you summarize and react to your readings and experiences. Each response will contain a summary and
response to the readings for the week.
Identify 3 impressionable quotes from readings (e.g., wow––hit you as important, something you disagree with, makes you wonder, A–Ha moment).
Provide the quote and the page number (and text) where the quote is located.
After identifying the quotes, explain why you chose those three and reflect on their importance in the context of the reading and how they help you
think about writing instruction. These three quotes should represent three main ideas of the readings and be thoroughly described with reflections
about how you as a writing teacher can implement these ideas into your classroom. Answer the question: What do you see as the primary advantages of
teaching genre with purpose? What might be challenging about this approach?
Based on the quotes you chose and the reflection you wrote, bring 2 questions about the readings with you

English Composition Reflective Essay
English composition has taught me everything I know now, from how to effectively write a thesis to grammatically fix my essay. This class fixed my
writing skills to speak and write incorrect terms. English composition gave me the edge I need to take my writing skills to next level. This class has
helped me understand the importance of documentation in a research skill. English composition showed me that sources either make or break your essay
. The true honesty of this course was that I am glad I took it. At first, I hate this class so much, because this class required so much extra work to be
done, but over time I realized that the extra work really pushes you over the edge to make your essay great. The extra work justifies your essay and

Reflective Sociology Essay
The last six weeks have challenged my preconceived ideas about sociology and the role that it plays in society in the popular and social media, my
values, behaviours and belief system. What I hope to highlight throughout this reflective essay is what I have learnt and how that has shaped my new
thought process and reinforced old thought patterns. Week one I learnt about the Sociological imagination where to quote C Wright "The sociological
imagination enables us to grasp the connection between history and biography." (Henslin et al., 2011). Upon further reflection of the reading material in
Sociology a down to earth approach there was one particular story that really resonated with me. It was the illustration about expecting...show more

Week three see's the introduction of the fathers of sociology Auguste Comte, Herbert Spenser, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Georg
Simmel. Karl Marx and Durkheim are the two that really resonate with me, Durkheim due to his theories around the subject of suicide and how that
subject is particularly personal with me and also Karl Marx theory around class inequality.
Karl Marx believed that man's basic needs were food and shelter and the evolution of these basic needs led to capitalism, after the industrial revolution
we see there being two distinct classes of people the workers and the capitalist and the effect that this ultimately has on social aspect of society. Marx
looked at the unequal power struggle in this theory and how that conflict would lead to socialism and eventually communism and it was then that he
co–wrote with Englels in 1948 "The Communist Manifesto". I can really see the same picture that Marx was looking at, even in today's society in
Australia we see the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, but more evident in third world countries where there are polar opposites in wealth
and power.
This subject has actually spilled out into my conversation at different locations, talking at a bar with a guy about the possibility that Jesus was a

Reflective Essay On Ethics
Ethical and unethical situations occur on a daily basis and are seen all around us. Being ethical requires one to take responsibility for their actions and
doing what is right in any given circumstance. Every person has the power to dictate their actions on how they are going to handle any situation they
are put in. I have experienced numerous amounts of situations that have tested my ethical behavior and actions. Throughout my experiences, I have
realized that ethics has a great impact on many different aspects of life such as society, career, and personal life. Understanding the meaning of ethics
allows me to grow as a person and to truly do what is right with any issue I am faced with.
Personal:
Every action and decision one makes is derived from ethics. In my opinion, ethics is about doing the right thing no matter the situation. Ethics has
a lot to do with one's personal values and it is important due to the fact that it influences the way a person governs their life. I believe being ethical
has a lot to do with the way one was brought up and the values that were instilled into them from a young age. My ethical views originated from my
upbringing and the lessons my parents taught me. My parents are big believers of always doing the right thing and that mindset got passed onto me.
My ethical values shape who I am as a person and impacts the way I go about life. Ethics is extremely important to me because I want to be the best
version of myself and with that entails

English 101 Reflective Essay
English 101 has been such an adventure. I know that sounds corny, but I just couldn't help myself. When I decided to do a short–term English class, I
thought it would be fun and challenging; My expectations were correct. As I write this reflection, I look back on the topics and assignments that
existed in this short period of time from post 1 to the multi–modal project. I will list the challenges I experienced which creating the creative project,
what I learned from the beginning of class to the end, and what I need to work on in the future. This English adventure started on post 1 and 2 and
ended at the multi–modal project. When I first did post 1 and 2 ,I was excited because we were incorporating fallacies to our discussions. I
previously learned more about fallacies and ethos, pathos, and logos from a previous communications course and I appreciated the review. I found
that it was challenging to respond properly to posts created by other classmates. My initial response was always to support each and every classmate
by telling them that they did an awesome job. I had trouble analyzing their work without agreeing with every claim. The multi model project brought
tears to my eyes and I do not mean tears of joy. At first I loved my ideas and was excited about the outcome, but my stress and nervousness...show more

During my K–12 education I feel that it taught me how to fake it until I make it. You think school teaches you how to be an adult in the real world
but it only teaches you how to be complaint. I never really thought about what I gained as a member of society. I think school tried to teach me
where my place is. I learned how even though this is 2017 and women don't have to sit and look pretty, students are expected to sit and look pretty
so to speak. For 12 years to earn a piece of paper I learned that I am expected to follow traditional rules and methods. I am expected to do as my
teacher says because their title is teacher that means according to society they are smarter and better than you. I learned that my opinion and my
thoughts have no merit compared to people with more experience. So thank you to 12 years of sitting in a class for 8 hours everyday to learn how to
fake compliance.
In the Working class schools, Knowledge was described as a set of facts to be learned. Creativity was not important enough to be incorporated into the
curriculum. During Elementary and Middle school we were taught to sit still and memorize facts, information and that there is one way of doing things,
the teachers way. This form of education teachers individuals to follow other people's way of thinking and behaving. This is how schools prepare the
future workforce population to follow the leader. In this type of setting students aren't taught to think for themselves or solve problems with new ways
of thinking or unconventional methods. Teachers want you to be compliant and those who resist are perceived as a somehow less functioning member
of society.Students act out and refuse to do the tasks given to them in class not because they don't want to learn but because the teachers aren't teaching
them. So people who refuse to accept the Hidden curriculum integrated in our education are perceived as drop outs, stupid, bad kids instead of being
seen as kids looking to be taught not going to school and memorize what is already written. In the Middle class school, knowledge was presented as
understanding curricular material. There was less fact memorization and an encouragement for students to understand the content of the

Reflective Essay On Climate Change
Climate change is an unpredictable change in weather among the countries and states that make up parts of the world. Despite the tragedies of
Hurricane Sandy, the ongoing California Wildfires, and the three hurricanes that divested Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico, I believe those powerful
climate events is the truly beginning of what the world is in store for. I feel like in a way not only is mother nature sending signals, but so is God.
The last natural disaster North, South, and Central America are waiting for is the Tsunami that will wash away our humanity. However, one object
that will vanish our entire existence before God does is the bomb Koreans will soon erupt on our soil. To fight for our lives and planet, as humans we
should take better care of our environment before it all comes crashing down like a domino effect.
Climate change has affected social classes by targeting low–income communities in pollution industries around the areas just out of convenience.
Communities of both colored and low–incomed class are located near hazardous waste sites due to not being able to afford living in a much safer
environment. Since the government views poor people as despicable human beings, why not make their lives any more suffering than it already is? In
the future, I predict that the 4 "ism's"

Reflective Essay: Lessons Learned
This is assignment was one of the first writing assignments I have written since graduating high school in 2005. While writing this essay I learned
several things about myself and become extremely excited when I learned I had earned 8 out of 10 points after submitting this assignment. This
first part of writing this essay was to pick a topic to write about. I decided to choose acne for the simple reason when I was growing up I had acne
but finally grew out of it. After I decide on the topic I had to gather the information for the essay itself which was not that easy. I had to gather the
information from different websites and was also able to find celebrates that revealed their stories on the Proactiv website. Once I gathered the
information required for the assignment I began writing which was difficult at first but once I was able to get started it seemed to become easier.
The only thing I would change about my paper if given the chance would be to organize the paper a little bit better. I would also try to apply
different words that are not used in everyday writing, this might have helped me with my grade however using larger words could also hurt my paper
if I did not use them correctly....show more content...
I noticed my work cited page was not on its own page after I had already submitted the assignment. I also had several different mistakes that I did
not noticed after submitting the paper but once I was given guidance by my Instructor I believe I was able to correct the work cited page correctly to
meet MLA standards. I know that with the information and guidance I have learned during this assignment I feel that I will be able to correctly write
a successful essay assignment during my college career along with my career as a Law Enforcement

The three chosen goals for year 2 of my nursing programme were specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely (S.M.A.R.T).
Goal one, was set out to help me become competent in critically appraising evidence and literature, which supports the learning skills of being able to
produce academic work at level 5 standards. This goal required gaining understanding and knowledge of critical appraisal, as well as thoroughly
comprehending the elements of critical appraisal and correctly identifying and using tool, frameworks and guidelines to critically appraise evidence
and literature. The significance of achieving this goal was to help me complete year 2 modules of understanding evidence–based nursing and
examining health and social care needs of vulnerable adults and achieving an overall good grade in both modules.
What I generally thought was, for the understanding evidence based nursing essay I did not perform well with my critical appraisal, as most of my
time was spent on formulating a PICO question and did not have sufficient time to write a powerful essay. However results showed that I gained an
overall 55% mark, and comments that were given by the moderator were as follows 'Critical appraisal – You have identified the

Relective Essay
I will be reflecting on my experience as a student nurse on my participation in patient–centred care. I will be focusing on how communication is a key
factor to ensuring the comfort of your patient during their journey in hospital. My reflection will be based on my practice learning experience in a
neurology ward. I have chosen a particular example for ineffective communication. The aim of this essay will be to use the framework of Gibbs
reflective Cycle (1988) to allow me to reflect in a written and clear way, this will gives me the chance to look at communication from different angles
and allows me to explore areas of practice which could be changed in the future (Jasper, 2003).

If I were to evaluate my experience as in Gibbs (1988).This was an ideal example of why inter professional communication is very essential. As a nurse
we communicated to the theatre staff through the paperwork and by phoning them and when they told her that she couldn't get the procedure, we
communicated that this was their fault and stood up for our patient.
Analysis:
Using Gibbs's reflective cycle has assisted me in making sense of the situation and to put things into perspective, recognizing how I can put this learning
experience to positive use in my future practice as a Nursing professional. If this situation were to arise again I know I would be as assertive and if I
feel the needs of a patient are not being met, my first consideration should be to protect the interests and safety of patients, in line with the NMC
(2002) Code of Professional Conduct, (clause 8). This reflection has highlighted the need to increase my knowledge and understanding of the process of
communicating with patients who are vulnerable; I will address these issues by always making sure that the patients allergies are highlighted.
Conclusion
In conclusion it can be seen that the nurse has a very important role in communicating with patients through their treatment. When a patient is admitted
to hospital, professional staff could have been prevented. Overall, through this reflection I have learnt that

Reflection: Surgery and Reflective Practice
The assignment critically discusses a reflective practice with regards to a clinical placement I undertook. In the following critical incident that I
encountered I will utilize the Gibbs Reflective Model. Gibbs reflective model is fairly straightforward and encourage a clear description of the
situation. Analysis of feelings, evaluation of the experience, analysis to make sense of the experience, conclusion and action plan where other options
are considered and reflection upon experience to examine what you would do if the situation arose again (Gibbs 1998). Unlike many other models

So when my mentor Mary and I were preparing the trays we made sure that everything he wanted was on the trolley. As I was working under
supervision of Mary and the Circulating nurse Mark, they were explaining to me about the importance of preparing the theatre according to each
surgeon's preferences. After all the necessary checking's and preparations in the anaesthetic room done, Mr Dillon was brought into the theatre after he
was given general anaesthesia and Mr Mann started the surgery. Everything was going well until Mr Mann started to fix the tibial implant. As per
surgeon's instructions we had it ready but unfortunately the '71' size he had requested was a bit smaller and he asked for a '73' size. But Mary
told him that it is not available in the tray so she asked me to get it from the tray room. Mark left me to go on my own to the tray room and I could
not find it. I was afraid to go back into theatre to tell the surgeon. When I finally went back and told, the surgeon that I could not find it, he started
shouting. Mary stepped in and told me to go with Mark so I could see where it was kept. That made the surgeon to calm down. We ran back again
and got it. Mary, Mark and I were so relieved. The time taken for such a small incident was almost 10–15 minutes which was really stressful to the
whole team and very dangerous to the patient. Luckily everything went

Ecg Reflection

  • 1. Ecg Reflection When I arrive to the facility this morning I was informed that one of the patients had passed away during the night, which was quite sad. Today I was in the acute ward all day and was able to watch the RN perform an ECG on a man that was bought in via ambulance who was complaining of chest pain. I watched as she placed the ECG leads on different positions of the chest. The RN showed me what a normal heart rate should look like. I also went around the ward taking OBS and notice that one of the patient's O2 levels were very low at 73%, the RN then gave the patient some ventolin through a mask to increase oxygen levels and they rose to 95%. The RN also showed me the medication charts and how they are to be read. I went around with her watching Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. English 101 Reflective Essay English class has never been my strong suite. I always had to work twice as hard in English then I did in any other class. Writing paper always had me stressed and overwhelmed, I felt discouraged in my work. l never seemed to be able to get to the level I wanted to. I would try my hardest and paid attention in class, but when it came to writing the paper none of that seemed to help. I think that my experience in English Composition 1 has helped gain and grow in some areas, but I don't think that it highlights a well–written college essay. Some elements that I worked to improving was introduction paragraphs, tone, style, and thesis statements. Throughout my experience in English 101, I gained information on the element...show more content... During high school, I seemed to get marked done for the tone used in my paper. I learned in this class that tone is a very important element in writing a paper, and can help the paper flow better. My sentences in my high school papers didn't vary in length very well then. I always had a problem with short choppy sentences. When writing my profile essay, research easy, and personal essay I tried to make sure I had a variety of sentence lengths. I feel I gained some improve on this element, I know I still have issues but I have grown from where I was before. Some papers were stronger than others and I struggled a bit more when constructing my paragraphs. My strongest paper in tone I would feel was my Personal essay. "She wants them to believe they can do whatever their hearts desire but they have to be willing to work for it. As a mother, it's important to work with your kids and help them discover how they learn best. It's important to teach your kids that there are going to be certain things that they have to be willing to work harder at" (Profile Essay). During my essay writing process, I could fix these problems easier in the body paragraphs and struggle a bit more with the intro paragraph. Overall I think that the element of tone was not my best work in my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Reflective Essay On Science The lesson that I'm going to focus on is really has to do with science for my first grade students. My focus will be to help them gain and comprehend the knowledge that's needed to while we observe the difference between the sun and the moon, the students will be exploring the difference in each of the objects, determining which one is heavy or light. They will have a questionnaire sheet to write down any questions that they may have. Giving the students the hands–on experiences is allowing them to understand even though their opposites, how their still used for comparison. In addition, the students will have to work as a team organizing the objects, labeling any events that they find and learn their vocabulary words. This lesson plan has a mixture of a few subjects for them, like Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Science. This content includes the student's having to ask and answer questions about details in a text, having to research, prompt and support their answers, remember important details with help from their group, respond to questions from their peers, be able to write a complete report, and get information or clarity on the details that they didn't comprehend. This lesson is exciting and fun, the students are learning specific details about the sun and moon, how much their related, but very different in many ways, their learning how to blend their vocabulary together to help them read and comprehend better and demonstrate their interest in writing to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Essay On Academic Reflection Education is ingrained in our lives; we are as a society born to learn. The ability to reflect on this habitual learning is what separates an honors mindset from the average. Reflection occurs continuously and effortlessly, as though peering into a looking glass. I reflect in order to increase my potential as a learner and become an honors student. Evaluating my past, present, and future education ultimately will unlock my fullest potential for true academic reflection. My past education experience, defined as, elementary through high school, was filled with opportunities of growth and promises of success. From elementary to middle school, I was led by a spark to learn. I wanted to accomplish many tasks, wanted to learn as much and as deeply as I could, I wanted to succeed with hard work. At this age level, I was displaying a growth mindset, and many key characteristics of Angela Maiers' habitudes. The most prominent example of this display was my eighth–grade year as it was the first time I ever truly struggled academically in my life. I was in my eight–grade math class with Mr. Pfitzner, at the time the bane of my existence, and I did not understand a thing. It seemed like all my hard work was for nothing, that I would never be able to overcome this obstacle. For a moment, I was able to see how easily a slip from a growth mindset to a fixed mindset could be. As I slowly slipped into the fixed mindset, I remember asking myself if this is how I want to learn. This challenge Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. In the beginning of English 10179 I dreaded any type of writing. I have never been a strong writer from the beginning. English has always been my worst subject because I feel as though when I write, I write simple and basic. My biggest weakness in writing has always been expanding my thoughts, adding detail into my writing, and citing sources. For example, before I took this course, my writing was as boring and bland as, "The dog ran away." That may have been a slight exaggeration, but in all seriousness, I had no idea what I was doing when I was writing. In my first essay I used the sentence, "I classified two people in this world, celebrities and normal people." Sentences like this have been found in several of my papers over and over again. Every time I tried to write a paper I felt as though I could not expand my paper long enough to make it interesting. Though this English course has been one of the hardest classes I have taken, it is also one of the only classes that has taught me so much in such a short amount time. After reading my graded papers, I have learned to take out these overly vague sentences, stretch them, and add significant detail. This class has pushed...show more content... Consequently, finding strong resources can be one of the hardest tasks to accomplish. When I first started to research, I became overwhelmed as to what to research, how to cite sources properly, and how to make sure the research fits in correctly. After using tutorials regarding "keywords" and "Topics," I found researching a topic easier to manage. However, I still found it extremely challenging to incorporate research into a story without it sounding uncomfortably awkward. I was nervous to write a paper that would be hard to follow, because as a reader I find it extremely hard to stay focused on a paper containing material that is difficult to relate Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Reflective Essay Reflecting on your learning through writing is a very effective way to show what you know and understand. As a future teacher, you will be constantly reflecting on the students in your classroom, your teaching, and what you could do differently next time. To help you begin to develop this reflective practice this semester as you write about the things you learned from your readings, your own experiences as a writer, and your classroom experiences with your peers. The purpose of this assignment is to help you summarize and react to your readings and experiences. Each response will contain a summary and response to the readings for the week. Identify 3 impressionable quotes from readings (e.g., wow––hit you as important, something you disagree with, makes you wonder, A–Ha moment). Provide the quote and the page number (and text) where the quote is located. After identifying the quotes, explain why you chose those three and reflect on their importance in the context of the reading and how they help you think about writing instruction. These three quotes should represent three main ideas of the readings and be thoroughly described with reflections about how you as a writing teacher can implement these ideas into your classroom. Answer the question: What do you see as the primary advantages of teaching genre with purpose? What might be challenging about this approach? Based on the quotes you chose and the reflection you wrote, bring 2 questions about the readings with you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. English Composition Reflective Essay English composition has taught me everything I know now, from how to effectively write a thesis to grammatically fix my essay. This class fixed my writing skills to speak and write incorrect terms. English composition gave me the edge I need to take my writing skills to next level. This class has helped me understand the importance of documentation in a research skill. English composition showed me that sources either make or break your essay . The true honesty of this course was that I am glad I took it. At first, I hate this class so much, because this class required so much extra work to be done, but over time I realized that the extra work really pushes you over the edge to make your essay great. The extra work justifies your essay and molds Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Reflective Sociology Essay The last six weeks have challenged my preconceived ideas about sociology and the role that it plays in society in the popular and social media, my values, behaviours and belief system. What I hope to highlight throughout this reflective essay is what I have learnt and how that has shaped my new thought process and reinforced old thought patterns. Week one I learnt about the Sociological imagination where to quote C Wright "The sociological imagination enables us to grasp the connection between history and biography." (Henslin et al., 2011). Upon further reflection of the reading material in Sociology a down to earth approach there was one particular story that really resonated with me. It was the illustration about expecting...show more content... Week three see's the introduction of the fathers of sociology Auguste Comte, Herbert Spenser, Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim, Max Weber, Georg Simmel. Karl Marx and Durkheim are the two that really resonate with me, Durkheim due to his theories around the subject of suicide and how that subject is particularly personal with me and also Karl Marx theory around class inequality. Karl Marx believed that man's basic needs were food and shelter and the evolution of these basic needs led to capitalism, after the industrial revolution we see there being two distinct classes of people the workers and the capitalist and the effect that this ultimately has on social aspect of society. Marx looked at the unequal power struggle in this theory and how that conflict would lead to socialism and eventually communism and it was then that he co–wrote with Englels in 1948 "The Communist Manifesto". I can really see the same picture that Marx was looking at, even in today's society in Australia we see the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, but more evident in third world countries where there are polar opposites in wealth and power. This subject has actually spilled out into my conversation at different locations, talking at a bar with a guy about the possibility that Jesus was a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Reflective Essay On Ethics Ethical and unethical situations occur on a daily basis and are seen all around us. Being ethical requires one to take responsibility for their actions and doing what is right in any given circumstance. Every person has the power to dictate their actions on how they are going to handle any situation they are put in. I have experienced numerous amounts of situations that have tested my ethical behavior and actions. Throughout my experiences, I have realized that ethics has a great impact on many different aspects of life such as society, career, and personal life. Understanding the meaning of ethics allows me to grow as a person and to truly do what is right with any issue I am faced with. Personal: Every action and decision one makes is derived from ethics. In my opinion, ethics is about doing the right thing no matter the situation. Ethics has a lot to do with one's personal values and it is important due to the fact that it influences the way a person governs their life. I believe being ethical has a lot to do with the way one was brought up and the values that were instilled into them from a young age. My ethical views originated from my upbringing and the lessons my parents taught me. My parents are big believers of always doing the right thing and that mindset got passed onto me. My ethical values shape who I am as a person and impacts the way I go about life. Ethics is extremely important to me because I want to be the best version of myself and with that entails Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. English 101 Reflective Essay English 101 has been such an adventure. I know that sounds corny, but I just couldn't help myself. When I decided to do a short–term English class, I thought it would be fun and challenging; My expectations were correct. As I write this reflection, I look back on the topics and assignments that existed in this short period of time from post 1 to the multi–modal project. I will list the challenges I experienced which creating the creative project, what I learned from the beginning of class to the end, and what I need to work on in the future. This English adventure started on post 1 and 2 and ended at the multi–modal project. When I first did post 1 and 2 ,I was excited because we were incorporating fallacies to our discussions. I previously learned more about fallacies and ethos, pathos, and logos from a previous communications course and I appreciated the review. I found that it was challenging to respond properly to posts created by other classmates. My initial response was always to support each and every classmate by telling them that they did an awesome job. I had trouble analyzing their work without agreeing with every claim. The multi model project brought tears to my eyes and I do not mean tears of joy. At first I loved my ideas and was excited about the outcome, but my stress and nervousness...show more content... • 11. During my K–12 education I feel that it taught me how to fake it until I make it. You think school teaches you how to be an adult in the real world but it only teaches you how to be complaint. I never really thought about what I gained as a member of society. I think school tried to teach me where my place is. I learned how even though this is 2017 and women don't have to sit and look pretty, students are expected to sit and look pretty so to speak. For 12 years to earn a piece of paper I learned that I am expected to follow traditional rules and methods. I am expected to do as my teacher says because their title is teacher that means according to society they are smarter and better than you. I learned that my opinion and my thoughts have no merit compared to people with more experience. So thank you to 12 years of sitting in a class for 8 hours everyday to learn how to fake compliance. In the Working class schools, Knowledge was described as a set of facts to be learned. Creativity was not important enough to be incorporated into the curriculum. During Elementary and Middle school we were taught to sit still and memorize facts, information and that there is one way of doing things, the teachers way. This form of education teachers individuals to follow other people's way of thinking and behaving. This is how schools prepare the future workforce population to follow the leader. In this type of setting students aren't taught to think for themselves or solve problems with new ways of thinking or unconventional methods. Teachers want you to be compliant and those who resist are perceived as a somehow less functioning member of society.Students act out and refuse to do the tasks given to them in class not because they don't want to learn but because the teachers aren't teaching them. So people who refuse to accept the Hidden curriculum integrated in our education are perceived as drop outs, stupid, bad kids instead of being seen as kids looking to be taught not going to school and memorize what is already written. In the Middle class school, knowledge was presented as understanding curricular material. There was less fact memorization and an encouragement for students to understand the content of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Reflective Essay On Climate Change Climate change is an unpredictable change in weather among the countries and states that make up parts of the world. Despite the tragedies of Hurricane Sandy, the ongoing California Wildfires, and the three hurricanes that divested Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico, I believe those powerful climate events is the truly beginning of what the world is in store for. I feel like in a way not only is mother nature sending signals, but so is God. The last natural disaster North, South, and Central America are waiting for is the Tsunami that will wash away our humanity. However, one object that will vanish our entire existence before God does is the bomb Koreans will soon erupt on our soil. To fight for our lives and planet, as humans we should take better care of our environment before it all comes crashing down like a domino effect. Climate change has affected social classes by targeting low–income communities in pollution industries around the areas just out of convenience. Communities of both colored and low–incomed class are located near hazardous waste sites due to not being able to afford living in a much safer environment. Since the government views poor people as despicable human beings, why not make their lives any more suffering than it already is? • 13. Reflective Essay: Lessons Learned This is assignment was one of the first writing assignments I have written since graduating high school in 2005. While writing this essay I learned several things about myself and become extremely excited when I learned I had earned 8 out of 10 points after submitting this assignment. This first part of writing this essay was to pick a topic to write about. I decided to choose acne for the simple reason when I was growing up I had acne but finally grew out of it. After I decide on the topic I had to gather the information for the essay itself which was not that easy. I had to gather the information from different websites and was also able to find celebrates that revealed their stories on the Proactiv website. Once I gathered the information required for the assignment I began writing which was difficult at first but once I was able to get started it seemed to become easier. The only thing I would change about my paper if given the chance would be to organize the paper a little bit better. I would also try to apply different words that are not used in everyday writing, this might have helped me with my grade however using larger words could also hurt my paper if I did not use them correctly....show more content... I noticed my work cited page was not on its own page after I had already submitted the assignment. I also had several different mistakes that I did not noticed after submitting the paper but once I was given guidance by my Instructor I believe I was able to correct the work cited page correctly to meet MLA standards. I know that with the information and guidance I have learned during this assignment I feel that I will be able to correctly write a successful essay assignment during my college career along with my career as a Law Enforcement Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. During this class, the challenge of writing and reading many essays have definitely improve my writing. There are so many details that need to be considered when crafting a paper. The grammar, neatness, relevance of the content, and the paper formatting are key aspects of the quality of writing. In the essay it was fairly simple to describe my surroundings, the sound, smell and general structure. When I started thinking of all the things I remembered from my experience in the ocean, I was able to make a gigantic list of details that I wanted to include in my essay, and I had to do some editing in order to fit the project guidelines. I wanted to convey how powerful and moving that experience was for me. I also wanted it to have a lot of vivid Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Relective Essay I will be reflecting on my experience as a student nurse on my participation in patient–centred care. I will be focusing on how communication is a key factor to ensuring the comfort of your patient during their journey in hospital. My reflection will be based on my practice learning experience in a neurology ward. I have chosen a particular example for ineffective communication. The aim of this essay will be to use the framework of Gibbs reflective Cycle (1988) to allow me to reflect in a written and clear way, this will gives me the chance to look at communication from different angles and allows me to explore areas of practice which could be changed in the future (Jasper, 2003). As a nurse I feel that we learn a lot of our skills...show more content... If I were to evaluate my experience as in Gibbs (1988).This was an ideal example of why inter professional communication is very essential. As a nurse we communicated to the theatre staff through the paperwork and by phoning them and when they told her that she couldn't get the procedure, we communicated that this was their fault and stood up for our patient. Analysis: Using Gibbs's reflective cycle has assisted me in making sense of the situation and to put things into perspective, recognizing how I can put this learning experience to positive use in my future practice as a Nursing professional. If this situation were to arise again I know I would be as assertive and if I feel the needs of a patient are not being met, my first consideration should be to protect the interests and safety of patients, in line with the NMC (2002) Code of Professional Conduct, (clause 8). This reflection has highlighted the need to increase my knowledge and understanding of the process of communicating with patients who are vulnerable; I will address these issues by always making sure that the patients allergies are highlighted. Conclusion In conclusion it can be seen that the nurse has a very important role in communicating with patients through their treatment. When a patient is admitted to hospital, professional staff could have been prevented. Overall, through this reflection I have learnt that Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Secondly, I took the placement test and the score I received was best suited for English 101. In addition, writing was never my strongest subject, but I am willing to put the effort to be a better writer. I expect to gain from taking English 101 is to argue and support a position, edit and proofread thoroughly, and understand the stages of the writing process. I'm sure I will have concerns in the future, but I'm not worried about them because I will seek for help when I'm in need. Furthermore, I will use all resources available such as going to the teacher for help, getting toured, EMCC Computer Commons, Buckeye Campus– Student Services, EMCC Library, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Reflection: Surgery and Reflective Practice The assignment critically discusses a reflective practice with regards to a clinical placement I undertook. In the following critical incident that I encountered I will utilize the Gibbs Reflective Model. Gibbs reflective model is fairly straightforward and encourage a clear description of the situation. Analysis of feelings, evaluation of the experience, analysis to make sense of the experience, conclusion and action plan where other options are considered and reflection upon experience to examine what you would do if the situation arose again (Gibbs 1998). Unlike many other models (with the exception of Boud) Gibbs model takes in to account the realm of feelings and emotions, which played a part in a particular event. My rationale for...show more content... So when my mentor Mary and I were preparing the trays we made sure that everything he wanted was on the trolley. As I was working under supervision of Mary and the Circulating nurse Mark, they were explaining to me about the importance of preparing the theatre according to each surgeon's preferences. After all the necessary checking's and preparations in the anaesthetic room done, Mr Dillon was brought into the theatre after he was given general anaesthesia and Mr Mann started the surgery. Everything was going well until Mr Mann started to fix the tibial implant. As per surgeon's instructions we had it ready but unfortunately the '71' size he had requested was a bit smaller and he asked for a '73' size. But Mary told him that it is not available in the tray so she asked me to get it from the tray room. Mark left me to go on my own to the tray room and I could not find it. I was afraid to go back into theatre to tell the surgeon. When I finally went back and told, the surgeon that I could not find it, he started shouting. Mary stepped in and told me to go with Mark so I could see where it was kept. That made the surgeon to calm down. We ran back again and got it. Mary, Mark and I were so relieved. The time taken for such a small incident was almost 10–15 minutes which was really stressful to the whole team and very dangerous to the patient. Luckily everything went Get more content on HelpWriting.net
