Career Objective: To utilize all of my educational and interpersonal skills to be an

Relevant Course Work: Math for Elementary Teachers 211, 212, and 213= the study of
math principles for students from kindergarten to twelfth grade.
Education 410=the study of learning how to be a classroom teacher as well as learning
how to cope with the stresses of an everyday teaching job.
Music=the study of teaching children the very beginning stages of music.
Art for Elementary Teachers= the study of teaching elementary art to students k-12th
.
Children’s Literature= the study of children’s books and how to teach them to
comprehend the information that is being given to them.
Psychology 311= the study of children’s motor skills as well as their psychomotor and
fine motor skills.

Relevant Course Work: Elementary Mathematics Methods= Investigating and
incorporating teaching approaches that facilitate the learning of powerful mathematics for
children of all ages.
2. Teaching and Learning= the study of learning how to be an effective teacher in the
classroom. Learning how to cope with the demands of students, parents, administrators,
and counselors.
Instruction and Technology= the focus is emphasized on methods and techniques of
incorporating technology into the classroom. The uses of databases, spreadsheets, and
telecommunications as tools for teachers as well as possible ways for students to use
them in their own learning were examined.
Reading Language Arts= The study of whole language, small group activities, reading
interviews, writing interviews, and an analysis of a child’s invented spelling in a writing
sample.
Multicultural and Urban Education= the study of the diversity among individuals and
groups as well as the exploration of the inequalities that result from diversity. A
particular emphasis was placed on urban settings.
Classroom Management=the study of different techniques to manage the classroom
effectively. Discipline was addressed several times.

Writing—4 Instructor for GED/ABE Department at Mt. Hood Community College
March 2015-Present (Spring/Summer 2015 Term.)
Substitute teacher for the Evergreen School District 2006-present.
Reading and Writing Instructor at Mount Hood Community College 2009-Present. I also
teach for AVID at Mount Hood Community College which is a learning community for
college students. (I currently teach Reading 115, Reading 117, EL115, Reading 90, and
Writing 90 at Mt. Hood Community College.)
Reading 80 Instructor Fall of 2004 at PCC Cascade Campus. Reading 90 Instructor
Winter 2005 at PCC Cascade Campus. Reading and Writing 80 Instructor at Portland
Community College for The Gateway to College program from the summer of 2002 to
summer 2004.
I taught students from ages 16-20. Gateway to College is a high school completion
program where the students receive high school and college credit at the same time.

Hobbies and Interests: Aerobics, running half-marathons, reading, writing, and spending
