Portfolio Review
December brought decent market gains even though there was no
trading activity within the portfolio. The markets were attaining new
pinnacles and the Christmas season reported positive earnings news.
It is clear that our stock selection has proven itself profitable as Apple and
Union Pacific Corp were our top performers for the month with unrealized
gains upwards of 25%.
Our only stock which didn’t perform as well for the month was
Schlumberger Ltd with a loss of approximately 15%. This is a direct result
of the company taking a battering from the decline in crude oil prices.
Notwithstanding this, we still maintain our position as we believe the
stock has significant potential for the future with solid financials to back
its future ventures.
We believe that once oil prices have stabilised, oil stocks should return to
performing levels.
We have an optimistic outlook for 2015; we will maintain our growth
centric approach to expanding our portfolio. We intend to preserve our
careful, stock selection methodology to reduce risk and volatility and
increase income for reinvestment by complimenting the portfolio with
dividend stocks.
We will continue to undertake extensive research and due diligence in
order to identify undervalued securities with viable catalysts that we
believe may change the way the market views their true worth.
When necessary, we will be activist investors if we feel we can unlock
value for our shareholders in an attempt to help the fund realize its full
potential.

Investment Objective
Marathon Freedom Fund SP is a global, multi-asset Fund that seeks to offer
clients the benefits from investment techniques which are typically exclusive
to large investment Funds.
The Fund is a medium risk Fund that aims to provide our clients with capital
growth but in a balanced manner.
This involves the assets being invested in a combination of fixed income
securities, mutual funds and selected stocks. The focus is currently on the
