nce upon a time, there was a shepherd boy named David, who lived with his mother in a poor peasant cottage. Through the years they lived
together happily, taking care of their sheep, and growing vegetables in their farm.
But one day, a very strange man, dressed in rich garbs and with odd mannerisms came to talk to his mother. The creature revealed his name was
Rumpelstilskin, and told to the boy that he had a twin brother. When he had just been born, Rumpelstilskin came to his parents' farm and told
them that the king and queen of their country could not have a heir of their own, and therefore, they needed a child. They would be rewarded
handsomely if they gave one of their twins to the monarchs. The parents chose to give away David's twin ,James, who was to become a prince,
while David was kept by his biological parents and grew up, unaware that he had a twin brother.
Many years later, the royal twin, James got killed in a duel. When King George was again in desperate need of an heir, he made another deal
with Rumpelstilskin, so that the sorcerer would procure him a replacement. He went to the family's farm, where David lived with his then
widowed mother Ruth, who admitted the truth to her son. Rumpelstilskin offered to save the farm if David agreed to pose as Prince James and
took his brother's place in the quest to kill a dragon for King Midas. David accepted to follow the sorcerer for his mother's sake and went to the
castle with Rumpelstilskin. At the castle, he met his brother's knights and learned of their plan to slay the dragon while allowing him, as Prince
James, to take the credit, so Midas would help their kingdom.
David and the knights travelled to the dragon's lair. At their arrival to the cave, several knights were burned alive, but David narrowly escaped
the dragon's fiery breath and managed to slay it, thanks to his wit and courage. After he proved to King Midas that he had killed the dragon by
bringing him its head, Midas decided to give Prince James what he considered a better reward: his daughter's hand in marriage.
David initially refused to marry Princess Abigail, but King George threatened his home and his mother's life if he did not comply. After all, the
king wanted the alliance and the lands and riches that it would bring him, so David had to agree to the marriage.
He returned to his farm to tell Ruth about his upcoming wedding. Because he had agreed to continue the ruse and live the life of his twin and
marry Midas' daughter, he could not see his mother ever again. She gave him her wedding ring, so that he could give it to the woman he truly
loved, hoping that he would be as happy with the marriage as his parents had been. Posing as Prince James, he returned to the kingdom and
decided to take the scenic route with Abigail to Midas' palace so they could start their wedding preparations.
The procession was halted, however, due to a fallen tree. He exited the carriage, leaving the pouch with his mother's ring in it behind him. He
discovered, after some examination of the marks on the tree trunk, that the tree had been felled, and not fallen. He turned around just in time to see
a thief escape his carriage with his pouch of jewels in hand, his mother's ring included.
He chased the thief on his horse and captured it, but when he pulled back the hood to reveal that the robber was actually a girl, he was so surprised
that he did not see her take a rock until she hit him with it on the chin, and escape on horseback before he caught his breath.
As she went away, he shouted 'I will find you! I will always find you!', making the thief look over her shoulder and grin at him.
* * *
As the thief walked out of her hiding place, and walked across a space between trees, she got pulled up in the air by a large net. David gloated in
satisfaction that he had finally caught her and laughed at her predicament, while she sarcastically gave him the nickname "Charming". Prince
Charming walked up to her, holding her wanted poster, which showed the thief's real name: Snow White.
He threatened to hand her over to the Evil Queen if she didn't tell him what happened to his pouch filled with jewels, especially his mother's ring.
Snow White accepted and he set her free from his trap, reminding her about her promise to take him to where she had sold his jewels. After
another failed escape attempt in which David actually had to save Snow White from a royal guard, she finally decided to take him to the Troll
Bridge, where she had traded his jewels for coins.
Once there, they met the hideous and greedy troll group. A brief struggle ensued when the trolls refused to give the pouch back to Snow White,
and Prince Charming found himself surrounded by trolls. Snow White tried to run, but when she saw the prince could not follow her, she decided
to return to save his life with fairy dust that she had been saving for the Evil Queen. Its magic turned one's enemies into something easily
defeated; and, in this case, the trolls turned into harmless bugs. They left the bridge and reached the path, where they parted. Snow White
jokingly tried on the ring in his pouch but said it was not her style. She handed the ring back to him, and they went their separate ways.

A few days after their encounter, Prince Charming was restless and brooding during his engagement party. His behaviour did not go unnoticed
and he was confronted by King George, who realized Charming was in love with someone else.
The king threatened to burn down Prince Charming's farm if he did not marry Abigail. After the king left, Prince Charming wrote a letter to
Snow White, telling her that he could not get her out of his head, and requesting for her to meet him in the castle if she felt the same way.
Snow White went to the castle to act on her feelings, for her feelings were as strong as David's, but King George captured her and threatened to
kill Prince Charming if she did not comply with his demands. She had no choice but to reject Charming, in order to keep the king from harming
him, and left the castle as heartbroken as Prince Charming is, after their encounter.
Although Snow White had told Charming she did not love him, he still ran away from King George to avoid the impending wedding. While on
the run, he got kidnapped by Abigail's henchmen, and Midas' daughter revealed to him that she wanted to marry him less than he wanted to
marry her. After her words, she showed him a solid gold statue dedicated to one of her kingdom's fallen soldiers, named Frederick.
At first, Prince Charming believed it was merely a gold statue, but the princess told him that Frederick was once a man, her betrothed. He had
been accidentally cursed by her father and was frozen as a gold statue. When David asked if she had tried true love's kiss, she admitted she
had, "until her lips bled" and told him that she had nearly lost all hope. Then, she explained to him about Lake Nostos' magical powers, how
it could restore something lost to a person, and her hopes that it could break Frederick's curse. Prince Charming agreed to help her.
He went to Lake Nostos, where he encountered a powerful siren. The Siren turned into Snow White and attempted to lure him into the lake. She
came very close to her goal, but evidently did not succeed, for his feelings for Snow were stronger than any kind of deception, and so she tried to
drown him instead. Prince Charming grabbed a dagger from an already deceased man underwater and stabbed the siren, killing her.
He returned to Frederick's golden shrine and gave the magical water to Abigail, who poured it over the knight's head. Frederick's curse broke
and the two lovers were joyfully reunited. Abigail introduced her lover to Prince Charming, who thanked the brave man profusely.
Prince Charming, in return, asked Frederick to repay him by marrying Abigail and giving him a horse so that he could go after Snow White.
Abigail wished him luck, thanked him for his kindness, and warned him about King George's potential fury when he learned that the union
between the kingdoms had been broken. After assisting Abigail, he went to Snow White's newest hideout, so that he could confess his love for
her again. Instead, he met a girl wearing a red riding hood, who told him that Snow White was living with the Seven Dwarves. King George
and his soldiers arrived at that moment, to capture Charming, so he and Red were forced to flee for safety.
The news of Prince Charming's called off marriage to Abigail spreaded throughout the kingdom, but Snow White could not remember who the
prince was anymore, because of the potion Rumpelstilskin had given her in a deal, so that it would cure her broken heart.
Prince Charming and Red camped out, but King George's men found them, and Red held them off by turning into a wolf while Prince
Charming escaped. As he was searching for the missing Snow White, he came across a nude soldier who claimed that Snow White had stolen
his armour from him in order to kill the Evil Queen. Prince Charming refused to believe that Snow White would do such a thing but became
hesitant at the knight's rebuff.
He heard that Snow White had travelled to Rumpelstilskin's palace, and followed after. However, he was too late and discovered that Snow
White was already on her way to kill the Queen. Rumpelstilskin told him that only True love's kiss could break the curse of the potion that she
drank.
Prince Charming agreed to give Rumpelstilskin his cloak in return for Snow White's location. He arrived in time to see Snow White preparing
herself for the Queen's assassination the next day. He kissed her, to no avail, and she knocked him out and chained him to a tree.
The next day, he was woken up by Jiminy Cricket, who freed him and begged him to stop Snow White from killing the Queen. Prince
Charming arrived as the Queen was passing through Snow White's location. Snow White let loose an arrow with the enchanted bow and he
jumped in front of it just in time to take the hit, saving the Queen's life.
When she demanded to know his reasons for running in front of an arrow, he insisted that he loved her so much that he would rather sacrifice
himself than let her become evil. This touched Snow White and as she kissed him, the effects of the potion were finally removed. Their happy
reunion was interrupted by King George's men , who, after a fight, ended up taking Prince Charming as a prisoner.
King George ordered him to be publicly executed but he was interrupted by Regina, who, in exchange for Prince Charming, gave the king an
amount of gold comparable to the value of his alliance with Midas and her promise that he would suffer a fate much worse than death. Prince
Charming was taken by Regina to a prison in a cave. He demanded to know what the Evil Queen had in store for his beloved.
The Queen denied his belief that what she wanted to do to the princess was to kill her, and when he asked her what her plans actually were, she
held up a cursed apple in response. Prince Charming was horrified as the Queen left him there, and she walked out of the dungeon, laughing.
Meanwhile, Snow White had gathered some companions, which included the seven dwarves, Red Riding Hood, Widow Lucas, and fairies led
by the Blue Fairy. They quickly stormed King George's castle, where they believed Prince Charming was being held.
Snow White and her allies killed several of King George's men, and Snow White broke into the dungeons. She finally found Prince Charming,
but when she ran to embrace him, she fell back, only to discover that he was only a reflection in a mirror. Prince Charming told her that he was
being held in a cave by the Evil Queen and explained that he was on the other side of a mirror. Snow White promised she would always find him.
Before their conversation could continue, Regina appeared in the mirror and demanded to meet Snow White alone.
At the meeting, the Queen convinced Snow White to take a bite of the poisoned apple, a demise Prince Charming felt in his body, as he had a
deep connection with his loved one by now. He demanded to know what had been done to Snow White, but he received no response. Sitting in his
cell, he vowed to find out what had happened to Snow White.
Two guards came and announced that Prince Charming was to be executed. However, on the way to the hallway, Prince Charming fought the
guards, won, and ran away. He came face-to-face with a guard with a bow and waited to be shot. However, the guard shot another guard behind
the man instead. Prince Charming demanded to know the man's name, and the guard pulled his helmet off, revealing himself to be the Huntsman.
The Huntsman explained that he was a friend of Snow White's and had thus decided to help him. He gave Prince Charming some provisions,
his sword, and a map out of the castle. He explained his past with Snow White, of how the Queen had enslaved him by taking his heart for
failing to kill Snow White, and asked that Prince Charming would not make his sacrifice in vain. Prince Charming agreed and left only to
become lost in a large forest.
Prince Charming wandered the forest for a short time before Rumpelstilskin appeared to him. Rumpelstilskin explained that he would not be able to
leave the forest on his own, and offered his help.
Prince Charming initially refused, but Rumpelstilskin showed him that he had taken his bag of jewels, including his mother's wedding ring, and
Prince Charming attacked the Dark One, angered.
Rumpelstilskin healed himself and used magic to overpower Prince Charming. The prince finally consented to his deal, and Rumpelstilskin
explains what Prince Charming would need to do. He showed him a golden egg containing a magic vial filled with liquid. Prince Charming would
have to put it in the belly of a great beast, for safekeeping. In return, the sorcerer would give him his mother's wedding ring, which had been
enchanted to lead him to Snow White.
Prince Charming entered the Dark Fortress on the summit of The Forbidden Mountain, and demanded to know where the "beast" of the castle
was. However, the shadow...the person he was threatening was actually a dark witch, named Maleficent. Maleficent repelled him, extinguished all
light in the castle, and covered herself in flames, transforming into a magnificent yet fearsome dragon.
Prince Charming, horrified by the vision, ran behind some pillars and evaded the dragon's fire breath until he was able to spot gills on the
dragon's neck, which keep the interior of the beast's body from becoming too heated from the fire. He jumped on its back, and after struggling with
the creature for a while, he managed to shove the golden egg into Maleficent's gills, and jumped out a window into the lake below.
Putting the fortress behind him, he swam back to the shore, where Rumpelstilskin was waiting for him. Rumpelstilskin returned Prince
Charming's jewels and transformed his outfit into an elegant red suit. He gave him a horse and his sword. Not caring about any of these details
but the horse, Prince Charming immediately hops on its back, using the ring to locate Snow White.
Galloping on horseback, Prince Charming made his way to Snow White, and found her resting inside a glass coffin, while the dwarves mourned
her. He asked them to open to coffin, to which they replied it was too late. He begged, in order to say a final goodbye, which they allowed by
removing the glass covering. Prince Charming gave Snow White one last kiss; unintentionally freeing her from the effects of the Sleeping Curse.
On the beach, Snow White asked him how he found her and Prince Charming flashed his mother's ring, while sinking to one knee and
proposing to her. She happily accepted and the two begin to form a plan to take back their kingdom together, for they have found a perfect partner in
each other.
* * *
Putting the plan into full-swing, Snow White rallied the local villagers, exposing the truth about the Queen’s evil ways, including the murder of
King Leopold and her own plight under the Sleeping Curse, with Prince Charming and the dwarves by her side. Though the townspeople had
continuously echoed in agreement with the princess, they turned silent when she asked them to stand beside her and fight against the Queen for the
right of the kingdom. They were very afraid of her, something the princess was able to see first-hand when townspeople scattered in horror when the
Queen made a surprise appearance.
The princess and prince unsheathed their swords, but the Queen magically bound Prince Charming with a rope. Instead, she offered Snow
White a deal, which Prince Charming tried to intervene in, but he was immediately gagged by the witch to keep him from speaking any further.
Continuing on, the Queen engaged Snow White in the tempting prospect of escaping with her life unscathed, if and when, the princess gave up her
claim to the throne. She ordered Snow White to swear on King Leopold’s grave she would revoke her own petition to the throne.
Snow White challenged her, and the Queen warned that if she didn't follow through, someone would pay. She demonstrated this by levitating
and choking a young peasant girl who was nearby. Though Snow White attempted to counter by charging with her sword, the Queen disappeared
in a puff of purple smoke as the girl was freed from the death grip and Prince Charming was loosened from his rope trap. Prince Charming
hurried to aide the frightened girl.
The Queen, confronting the princess again, set a time limit for the offer, until sundown the following day, for revoking her claim to the throne, and
promised that for everyday she refused to do so, one of her loyal subjects would perish.
Near a riverbed, Snow White, Prince Charming and the dwarves had stationed a temporary camp. Though Prince Charming tried to convince
Snow White that the kingdom’s citizens needed protection from the Queen and that she was their best option, she remained realistic about her
own limits in the situation. Lamenting her own inability to come to defence of the peasant girl earlier on, she also feared the Queen would begin to
harm those closest to herself in retaliation. The dwarves swore fealty to Snow White, remarks it wouldn't matter if their lives will end in death for
her.
Snow White considered the thought of that probably happening, but Prince Charming urged to not let the Queen’s words get to her. However,
Snow White’s spirits were already dampened by understanding the Queen had been right to say she was no queen or even a leader, and saw
herself as what she had been the last few years, just a bandit in the woods. He insisted her of her ability to win people over , since they had been
waiting for the rightful heir to King Leopold's throne, but Snow White admitted to not knowing if she was that person anymore; stressing the
one thing she did not want was to be alone.
Prince Charming promised that will never happen. She agreed with him, arguing that if the Queen’s offer was taken, they could all be together in
peaceful exile. Protesting against her decision, Prince Charming was quickly cut off in his attempts to coax Snow White back when Grumpy
confronted him about his peculiar attention in wanting to fight for the right of the throne.
Confused, Prince Charming listened to Grumpy's argument that by having true love, there was no real difference in living in a castle or farm.
Each of the dwarves, in turn, gave Prince Charming their similar opinions. In disbelief, Prince Charming was shocked they were accusing him of
wanting to obtain Snow White’s crown, and tried to explain he just wanted what he thought was best for her. Grumpy gave him a reality check
by stating that, even though Snow White loved him, his dashing looks weren't a free pass from their watching eyes, so he would just have to find
a way to change her mind without them.
Deciding he needed the assistance of a certain wizard, Prince Charming broke into Rumpelstilskin's castle, requesting the use of magic to help
Snow White remember who she really was, something to make her have enough self-confidence, which he knew was already inside her, but simply
needed to be drawn out.
The Dark One stated magic couldn't make someone believe in something and true belief should come from within the person. He recommended
taking the Queen's offer and steering clear of taking the kingdom, as ruling wasn't an easy task; exemplifying how Prince Charming's brother,
James, had met his end. Prince Charming wouldn't take no for an answer, but Rumpelstilskin had absolutely nothing to give him.
Leaving empty-handed, Prince Charming formed a plan for acquiring an exact forgery of the legendary Excalibur sword from Camelot. As the
lore went, Excalibur was a sword embedded in a stone, and only one worthy enough of ruling the kingdom could pull it out from captivity.
He came to Snow White while she was practicing archery and kept missing her target. He brought up the topic of resisting the Queen's offer
again, though Snow White insisted her mind was already made up, so Prince Charming told her about his deal with Rumpelstilskin. She disliked
that all of Rumpelstilskin's transactions came with a price. Moreover, Prince Charming believed it was a price worth paying and reminded Snow
White that Rumpelstilskin was the one who aided him in saving her from the Sleeping Curse.
He talks about the legend of the sword which could help her take back the kingdom. Snow White claimed she wasn't interested unless no more
innocent lives would be lost. Prince Charming asked her to give it a chance since the sword was only a short ride away. Drawing another arrow
into the bow, she wondered how the sword would help her defeat the Queen while Prince Charming redirected her aiming pose. As he stated with
certainty, it would show the Queen who Snow White really was. This time, as she released the arrow, it hit the bull's-eye.
Snow White and Prince Charming travelled on horseback and dismounted to go on foot towards the sword’s location. On the way there, he
enlightened her about the power of the weapon, Excalibur, which was forged by a wizard named Merlin, and only the kingdom’s true ruler may
wield it. When they arrived, the sword, nested in a large stone, was successfully pulled out by an astonished Snow White.
The next day, Prince Charming helped Snow White prepare to face the Queen, who was expectant in Snow White's answer, but the princess
told her she wouldn’t be surrendering the crown. True to her previous threats, the Queen began suffocating Grumpy to death as pa ayment for
Snow White’s defiance, and threw back the other dwarves when they attempted to help him. Paralyzed by fear, Snow White, unsure of what
to do, began to believe in herself after being reminded by the prince of what Excalibur symbolized. Snow White charged at the Queen, missing at
first, but managed to cut her cheek; releasing Grumpy from the choke hold as Prince Charming and the dwarves hurried to his aid.
At Snow White's bold declaration that the kingdom was hers, the Queen matched evenly with words, and retreated to her castle. Afterwards,
Snow White, Prince Charming and the dwarves congregated in celebration of the victory.
Having earned the dwarves' respect, Prince Charming was accepted by them. In the middle of making a toast with the dwarves to a new future,
Snow White pushed in to confront him; upset at his lies about the deal and sword. Prince Charming reminded her that, even though the sword
was fake, Snow White was able to show the Queen the kind of courage he always knew she had in her. From this, Snow White realized he
never doubted her strength was greater than the Queen's, and she kissed him, because he knew her better than herself.
* * *
With the Queen out of the way, Prince Charming and Snow White began laying down further groundwork for gaining back the kingdom.
Receiving news from Red Riding Hood that King George had hired a powerful hit-man, Lancelot, Prince Charming offered to stay behind and
asked Snow White to run away to his mother's cabin to make sure she was alright. After the fight, he arrived at the cabin shortly before King
George's army arrived to capture him. Although he emerged victorious, Ruth, worried about his well-being, ran outside and was shot by a
poisoned arrow. Once Snow White and Lancelot, who still hadn't arrived there, rejoined the prince and his mother, they travelled to Lake
Nostos, in hope to find the cure for the wound caused by the poisoned arrow.
However, the lake's waters had dried up some time after the previous time Prince Charming had come to the lake and killed the Siren. Lancelot
was able to find a small portion of water inside a shell and brought it over to Ruth. She drank it, but it seemed to have no effect. Knowing death
was near, Ruth admitted her only regret was not living to see her son getting married to Snow White. Honouring her wish, Snow White asked
Lancelot to perform a marriage ceremony. During the ceremony, Ruth died peacefully ,following the union.
Prince Charming put Ruth's body in a carriage and showed Snow White his mother's necklace, which had the ability to predict the sex of a
person's future firstborn. Saddened, Snow White began to break the news about her barrenness caused by King George when the necklace started
to sway, and to her astonishment, she told him they would have a baby some time in the future, keeping the gender to herself. Prince Charming,
overjoyed by this news, told her they would take back the kingdom as a family. Snow White realized Ruth only pretended to drink the lake water,
and had given the actual water to Lancelot so that he could secretly give it to her in the chalice; thus breaking the barren curse.
During Prince Charming and Snow White's war to take back the kingdom, the Evil Queen joined forces with King George. Near the end of
the war, King George's armies succumbed to defeat first. Prince Charming and his wife set a trap for the Evil Queen, in which she was frozen
by fairy dust by the Blue Fairy, and captured, thus putting an end to the war in the kingdom, once and for all.
There was a war council meeting to discuss the Evil Queen's fate. Snow White did not want to have the Queen killed, and Jiminy Cricket
agreed with her. Prince Charming was able to convince her otherwise, after everything she had done, and the execution was planned. At the
execution, Regina announced that she was sorry...sorry that she had not been able to cause more pain before her death. The executioner's arrows
were fired, but Snow White ordered them to stop and the arrows were frozen by the Blue Fairy just before they hit Regina. The Evil Queen was
then taken back to her cell, while the rest of the kingdom watched her.
Snow White discussed her decision to spare her former step-mother with Prince Charming. He thought she was too dangerous to be left alive, and
that she would never change. Snow White believed that she did have the ability to change and that there was some good left in her. She believes this
because Regina has saved her life in the past. Later, in the courtyard, Rumpelstilskin offered Snow White a way to prove if Regina was
actually capable of changing.
Snow White visited Regina in her prison cell. The Queen, Snow White said, was free to go, as Snow White had given her the opportunity to
change. The cell door was opened, and the two walked out, but right as they were leaving, Regina choked Snow White and she attempted to stab
Snow White with a knife she had found on her, to no effect. The knife had been enchanted by Rumpelstilskin, so it could not harm Snow White
or her prince. He and his wife told Regina that she had failed to change, and she was banished from the kingdom forever. Snow White warned
The Queen that if she ever attempted to harm anyone in her kingdom again, she would kill her, for she had already shown too much mercy to her,
with no results.
Prince Charming and Snow White finally got married, but their wedding was crashed by the Evil Queen. She vowed that she would destroy
Snow White's happiness and told them she would give them a wedding gift: A happy day before her curse arrived, which would make sure that
the only happy ending was hers. After she revealed this, Prince Charming threw his sword at her, but the Evil Queen vanished.
Sometime after their own wedding, Prince Charming and Snow White attended Cinderella's wedding to Prince Thomas, as a couple. After
hearing about Cinderella's plight with Rumpelstilskin, Prince Charming hatched a plan with Cinderella, Thomas, Grumpy, and the Blue Fairy to
trap the Dark One using magic squid ink.
The plan succeeds, though Prince Thomas disappeared as a price of Cinderella's broken deal with Rumpelstilskin. Therefore, Prince Charming
imprisoned Rumpelstilskin in a special cell in a dungeon of their castle.
* * *
Months went by, and Snow White became pregnant, and they discover from Rumpelstilskin that their child would be their saviour when the pair
visited him in prison. Though Prince Charming initially believed they were having a son, the Dark One revealed that they will have a daughter
instead.
Prince Charming and Snow White met with many of their allies to discuss how to stop the Queen's Curse from going into effect. While many
of their allies proposed war, the Blue Fairy came with a magical tree and claimed that it would be able to save one person from the Evil Queen's
Curse. Geppetto and Pinocchio were charged with the task of turning the tree into a wardrobe, so that the person would be able to get into it and be
transported between worlds.
On the day that the pair completed the wardrobe, the Evil Queen and her knights invaded their kingdom. Grumpy and Sleepy alerted the kingdom
of the Curse's arrival, just as Snow White was going into labour. When Prince Charming attempted to take her to the wardrobe, Doc told him
that she could not be moved. He instead settled down to encourage his wife, as she gave birth to Emma, their daughter.
Emma was born right as the Queen's black knights were storming the castle, so Prince Charming took her to the wardrobe, fighting black knights
along the way, and successfully evading them for a few precious moments. He managed to enter the room with the wardrobe and put Emma inside.
As soon as he closed the doors, several black knights broke through the door to fight Prince Charming, who got stabbed and left for dead, only able
to stay conscious long enough to see that Emma had vanished through the magical piece of furniture.
When Snow White finally found him and kissed him, begging for him not to leave her, she thought that True Love's Kiss would bring him
back to life immediately, but he remained unconscious. He was held in Snow White's arms while everyone was surrounded and swallowed by the
black smoke from the dark curse, while the Evil Queen laughed loudly, celebrating her victory over the two lovers, who were now separated by
death.

Prince Charming

  • 1.
  • 2. nce upon a time, there was a shepherd boy named David, who lived with his mother in a poor peasant cottage. Through the years they lived together happily, taking care of their sheep, and growing vegetables in their farm. But one day, a very strange man, dressed in rich garbs and with odd mannerisms came to talk to his mother. The creature revealed his name was Rumpelstilskin, and told to the boy that he had a twin brother. When he had just been born, Rumpelstilskin came to his parents' farm and told them that the king and queen of their country could not have a heir of their own, and therefore, they needed a child. They would be rewarded handsomely if they gave one of their twins to the monarchs. The parents chose to give away David's twin ,James, who was to become a prince, while David was kept by his biological parents and grew up, unaware that he had a twin brother. Many years later, the royal twin, James got killed in a duel. When King George was again in desperate need of an heir, he made another deal with Rumpelstilskin, so that the sorcerer would procure him a replacement. He went to the family's farm, where David lived with his then widowed mother Ruth, who admitted the truth to her son. Rumpelstilskin offered to save the farm if David agreed to pose as Prince James and took his brother's place in the quest to kill a dragon for King Midas. David accepted to follow the sorcerer for his mother's sake and went to the castle with Rumpelstilskin. At the castle, he met his brother's knights and learned of their plan to slay the dragon while allowing him, as Prince James, to take the credit, so Midas would help their kingdom.
  • 3. David and the knights travelled to the dragon's lair. At their arrival to the cave, several knights were burned alive, but David narrowly escaped the dragon's fiery breath and managed to slay it, thanks to his wit and courage. After he proved to King Midas that he had killed the dragon by bringing him its head, Midas decided to give Prince James what he considered a better reward: his daughter's hand in marriage. David initially refused to marry Princess Abigail, but King George threatened his home and his mother's life if he did not comply. After all, the king wanted the alliance and the lands and riches that it would bring him, so David had to agree to the marriage. He returned to his farm to tell Ruth about his upcoming wedding. Because he had agreed to continue the ruse and live the life of his twin and marry Midas' daughter, he could not see his mother ever again. She gave him her wedding ring, so that he could give it to the woman he truly loved, hoping that he would be as happy with the marriage as his parents had been. Posing as Prince James, he returned to the kingdom and decided to take the scenic route with Abigail to Midas' palace so they could start their wedding preparations. The procession was halted, however, due to a fallen tree. He exited the carriage, leaving the pouch with his mother's ring in it behind him. He discovered, after some examination of the marks on the tree trunk, that the tree had been felled, and not fallen. He turned around just in time to see a thief escape his carriage with his pouch of jewels in hand, his mother's ring included. He chased the thief on his horse and captured it, but when he pulled back the hood to reveal that the robber was actually a girl, he was so surprised that he did not see her take a rock until she hit him with it on the chin, and escape on horseback before he caught his breath. As she went away, he shouted 'I will find you! I will always find you!', making the thief look over her shoulder and grin at him.
  • 4. * * * As the thief walked out of her hiding place, and walked across a space between trees, she got pulled up in the air by a large net. David gloated in satisfaction that he had finally caught her and laughed at her predicament, while she sarcastically gave him the nickname "Charming". Prince Charming walked up to her, holding her wanted poster, which showed the thief's real name: Snow White. He threatened to hand her over to the Evil Queen if she didn't tell him what happened to his pouch filled with jewels, especially his mother's ring. Snow White accepted and he set her free from his trap, reminding her about her promise to take him to where she had sold his jewels. After another failed escape attempt in which David actually had to save Snow White from a royal guard, she finally decided to take him to the Troll Bridge, where she had traded his jewels for coins. Once there, they met the hideous and greedy troll group. A brief struggle ensued when the trolls refused to give the pouch back to Snow White, and Prince Charming found himself surrounded by trolls. Snow White tried to run, but when she saw the prince could not follow her, she decided to return to save his life with fairy dust that she had been saving for the Evil Queen. Its magic turned one's enemies into something easily defeated; and, in this case, the trolls turned into harmless bugs. They left the bridge and reached the path, where they parted. Snow White jokingly tried on the ring in his pouch but said it was not her style. She handed the ring back to him, and they went their separate ways. * * * A few days after their encounter, Prince Charming was restless and brooding during his engagement party. His behaviour did not go unnoticed and he was confronted by King George, who realized Charming was in love with someone else.
  • 5. The king threatened to burn down Prince Charming's farm if he did not marry Abigail. After the king left, Prince Charming wrote a letter to Snow White, telling her that he could not get her out of his head, and requesting for her to meet him in the castle if she felt the same way. Snow White went to the castle to act on her feelings, for her feelings were as strong as David's, but King George captured her and threatened to kill Prince Charming if she did not comply with his demands. She had no choice but to reject Charming, in order to keep the king from harming him, and left the castle as heartbroken as Prince Charming is, after their encounter. Although Snow White had told Charming she did not love him, he still ran away from King George to avoid the impending wedding. While on the run, he got kidnapped by Abigail's henchmen, and Midas' daughter revealed to him that she wanted to marry him less than he wanted to marry her. After her words, she showed him a solid gold statue dedicated to one of her kingdom's fallen soldiers, named Frederick. At first, Prince Charming believed it was merely a gold statue, but the princess told him that Frederick was once a man, her betrothed. He had been accidentally cursed by her father and was frozen as a gold statue. When David asked if she had tried true love's kiss, she admitted she had, "until her lips bled" and told him that she had nearly lost all hope. Then, she explained to him about Lake Nostos' magical powers, how it could restore something lost to a person, and her hopes that it could break Frederick's curse. Prince Charming agreed to help her. He went to Lake Nostos, where he encountered a powerful siren. The Siren turned into Snow White and attempted to lure him into the lake. She came very close to her goal, but evidently did not succeed, for his feelings for Snow were stronger than any kind of deception, and so she tried to drown him instead. Prince Charming grabbed a dagger from an already deceased man underwater and stabbed the siren, killing her.
  • 6. He returned to Frederick's golden shrine and gave the magical water to Abigail, who poured it over the knight's head. Frederick's curse broke and the two lovers were joyfully reunited. Abigail introduced her lover to Prince Charming, who thanked the brave man profusely. Prince Charming, in return, asked Frederick to repay him by marrying Abigail and giving him a horse so that he could go after Snow White. Abigail wished him luck, thanked him for his kindness, and warned him about King George's potential fury when he learned that the union between the kingdoms had been broken. After assisting Abigail, he went to Snow White's newest hideout, so that he could confess his love for her again. Instead, he met a girl wearing a red riding hood, who told him that Snow White was living with the Seven Dwarves. King George and his soldiers arrived at that moment, to capture Charming, so he and Red were forced to flee for safety. The news of Prince Charming's called off marriage to Abigail spreaded throughout the kingdom, but Snow White could not remember who the prince was anymore, because of the potion Rumpelstilskin had given her in a deal, so that it would cure her broken heart. Prince Charming and Red camped out, but King George's men found them, and Red held them off by turning into a wolf while Prince Charming escaped. As he was searching for the missing Snow White, he came across a nude soldier who claimed that Snow White had stolen his armour from him in order to kill the Evil Queen. Prince Charming refused to believe that Snow White would do such a thing but became hesitant at the knight's rebuff. He heard that Snow White had travelled to Rumpelstilskin's palace, and followed after. However, he was too late and discovered that Snow White was already on her way to kill the Queen. Rumpelstilskin told him that only True love's kiss could break the curse of the potion that she drank.
  • 7. Prince Charming agreed to give Rumpelstilskin his cloak in return for Snow White's location. He arrived in time to see Snow White preparing herself for the Queen's assassination the next day. He kissed her, to no avail, and she knocked him out and chained him to a tree. The next day, he was woken up by Jiminy Cricket, who freed him and begged him to stop Snow White from killing the Queen. Prince Charming arrived as the Queen was passing through Snow White's location. Snow White let loose an arrow with the enchanted bow and he jumped in front of it just in time to take the hit, saving the Queen's life. When she demanded to know his reasons for running in front of an arrow, he insisted that he loved her so much that he would rather sacrifice himself than let her become evil. This touched Snow White and as she kissed him, the effects of the potion were finally removed. Their happy reunion was interrupted by King George's men , who, after a fight, ended up taking Prince Charming as a prisoner. King George ordered him to be publicly executed but he was interrupted by Regina, who, in exchange for Prince Charming, gave the king an amount of gold comparable to the value of his alliance with Midas and her promise that he would suffer a fate much worse than death. Prince Charming was taken by Regina to a prison in a cave. He demanded to know what the Evil Queen had in store for his beloved. The Queen denied his belief that what she wanted to do to the princess was to kill her, and when he asked her what her plans actually were, she held up a cursed apple in response. Prince Charming was horrified as the Queen left him there, and she walked out of the dungeon, laughing. Meanwhile, Snow White had gathered some companions, which included the seven dwarves, Red Riding Hood, Widow Lucas, and fairies led by the Blue Fairy. They quickly stormed King George's castle, where they believed Prince Charming was being held.
  • 8. Snow White and her allies killed several of King George's men, and Snow White broke into the dungeons. She finally found Prince Charming, but when she ran to embrace him, she fell back, only to discover that he was only a reflection in a mirror. Prince Charming told her that he was being held in a cave by the Evil Queen and explained that he was on the other side of a mirror. Snow White promised she would always find him. Before their conversation could continue, Regina appeared in the mirror and demanded to meet Snow White alone. At the meeting, the Queen convinced Snow White to take a bite of the poisoned apple, a demise Prince Charming felt in his body, as he had a deep connection with his loved one by now. He demanded to know what had been done to Snow White, but he received no response. Sitting in his cell, he vowed to find out what had happened to Snow White. Two guards came and announced that Prince Charming was to be executed. However, on the way to the hallway, Prince Charming fought the guards, won, and ran away. He came face-to-face with a guard with a bow and waited to be shot. However, the guard shot another guard behind the man instead. Prince Charming demanded to know the man's name, and the guard pulled his helmet off, revealing himself to be the Huntsman. The Huntsman explained that he was a friend of Snow White's and had thus decided to help him. He gave Prince Charming some provisions, his sword, and a map out of the castle. He explained his past with Snow White, of how the Queen had enslaved him by taking his heart for failing to kill Snow White, and asked that Prince Charming would not make his sacrifice in vain. Prince Charming agreed and left only to become lost in a large forest. Prince Charming wandered the forest for a short time before Rumpelstilskin appeared to him. Rumpelstilskin explained that he would not be able to leave the forest on his own, and offered his help.
  • 9. Prince Charming initially refused, but Rumpelstilskin showed him that he had taken his bag of jewels, including his mother's wedding ring, and Prince Charming attacked the Dark One, angered. Rumpelstilskin healed himself and used magic to overpower Prince Charming. The prince finally consented to his deal, and Rumpelstilskin explains what Prince Charming would need to do. He showed him a golden egg containing a magic vial filled with liquid. Prince Charming would have to put it in the belly of a great beast, for safekeeping. In return, the sorcerer would give him his mother's wedding ring, which had been enchanted to lead him to Snow White. Prince Charming entered the Dark Fortress on the summit of The Forbidden Mountain, and demanded to know where the "beast" of the castle was. However, the shadow...the person he was threatening was actually a dark witch, named Maleficent. Maleficent repelled him, extinguished all light in the castle, and covered herself in flames, transforming into a magnificent yet fearsome dragon. Prince Charming, horrified by the vision, ran behind some pillars and evaded the dragon's fire breath until he was able to spot gills on the dragon's neck, which keep the interior of the beast's body from becoming too heated from the fire. He jumped on its back, and after struggling with the creature for a while, he managed to shove the golden egg into Maleficent's gills, and jumped out a window into the lake below. Putting the fortress behind him, he swam back to the shore, where Rumpelstilskin was waiting for him. Rumpelstilskin returned Prince Charming's jewels and transformed his outfit into an elegant red suit. He gave him a horse and his sword. Not caring about any of these details but the horse, Prince Charming immediately hops on its back, using the ring to locate Snow White.
  • 10. Galloping on horseback, Prince Charming made his way to Snow White, and found her resting inside a glass coffin, while the dwarves mourned her. He asked them to open to coffin, to which they replied it was too late. He begged, in order to say a final goodbye, which they allowed by removing the glass covering. Prince Charming gave Snow White one last kiss; unintentionally freeing her from the effects of the Sleeping Curse. On the beach, Snow White asked him how he found her and Prince Charming flashed his mother's ring, while sinking to one knee and proposing to her. She happily accepted and the two begin to form a plan to take back their kingdom together, for they have found a perfect partner in each other. * * * Putting the plan into full-swing, Snow White rallied the local villagers, exposing the truth about the Queen’s evil ways, including the murder of King Leopold and her own plight under the Sleeping Curse, with Prince Charming and the dwarves by her side. Though the townspeople had continuously echoed in agreement with the princess, they turned silent when she asked them to stand beside her and fight against the Queen for the right of the kingdom. They were very afraid of her, something the princess was able to see first-hand when townspeople scattered in horror when the Queen made a surprise appearance. The princess and prince unsheathed their swords, but the Queen magically bound Prince Charming with a rope. Instead, she offered Snow White a deal, which Prince Charming tried to intervene in, but he was immediately gagged by the witch to keep him from speaking any further. Continuing on, the Queen engaged Snow White in the tempting prospect of escaping with her life unscathed, if and when, the princess gave up her claim to the throne. She ordered Snow White to swear on King Leopold’s grave she would revoke her own petition to the throne.
  • 11. Snow White challenged her, and the Queen warned that if she didn't follow through, someone would pay. She demonstrated this by levitating and choking a young peasant girl who was nearby. Though Snow White attempted to counter by charging with her sword, the Queen disappeared in a puff of purple smoke as the girl was freed from the death grip and Prince Charming was loosened from his rope trap. Prince Charming hurried to aide the frightened girl. The Queen, confronting the princess again, set a time limit for the offer, until sundown the following day, for revoking her claim to the throne, and promised that for everyday she refused to do so, one of her loyal subjects would perish. Near a riverbed, Snow White, Prince Charming and the dwarves had stationed a temporary camp. Though Prince Charming tried to convince Snow White that the kingdom’s citizens needed protection from the Queen and that she was their best option, she remained realistic about her own limits in the situation. Lamenting her own inability to come to defence of the peasant girl earlier on, she also feared the Queen would begin to harm those closest to herself in retaliation. The dwarves swore fealty to Snow White, remarks it wouldn't matter if their lives will end in death for her. Snow White considered the thought of that probably happening, but Prince Charming urged to not let the Queen’s words get to her. However, Snow White’s spirits were already dampened by understanding the Queen had been right to say she was no queen or even a leader, and saw herself as what she had been the last few years, just a bandit in the woods. He insisted her of her ability to win people over , since they had been waiting for the rightful heir to King Leopold's throne, but Snow White admitted to not knowing if she was that person anymore; stressing the one thing she did not want was to be alone.
  • 12. Prince Charming promised that will never happen. She agreed with him, arguing that if the Queen’s offer was taken, they could all be together in peaceful exile. Protesting against her decision, Prince Charming was quickly cut off in his attempts to coax Snow White back when Grumpy confronted him about his peculiar attention in wanting to fight for the right of the throne. Confused, Prince Charming listened to Grumpy's argument that by having true love, there was no real difference in living in a castle or farm. Each of the dwarves, in turn, gave Prince Charming their similar opinions. In disbelief, Prince Charming was shocked they were accusing him of wanting to obtain Snow White’s crown, and tried to explain he just wanted what he thought was best for her. Grumpy gave him a reality check by stating that, even though Snow White loved him, his dashing looks weren't a free pass from their watching eyes, so he would just have to find a way to change her mind without them. Deciding he needed the assistance of a certain wizard, Prince Charming broke into Rumpelstilskin's castle, requesting the use of magic to help Snow White remember who she really was, something to make her have enough self-confidence, which he knew was already inside her, but simply needed to be drawn out. The Dark One stated magic couldn't make someone believe in something and true belief should come from within the person. He recommended taking the Queen's offer and steering clear of taking the kingdom, as ruling wasn't an easy task; exemplifying how Prince Charming's brother, James, had met his end. Prince Charming wouldn't take no for an answer, but Rumpelstilskin had absolutely nothing to give him. Leaving empty-handed, Prince Charming formed a plan for acquiring an exact forgery of the legendary Excalibur sword from Camelot. As the lore went, Excalibur was a sword embedded in a stone, and only one worthy enough of ruling the kingdom could pull it out from captivity.
  • 13. He came to Snow White while she was practicing archery and kept missing her target. He brought up the topic of resisting the Queen's offer again, though Snow White insisted her mind was already made up, so Prince Charming told her about his deal with Rumpelstilskin. She disliked that all of Rumpelstilskin's transactions came with a price. Moreover, Prince Charming believed it was a price worth paying and reminded Snow White that Rumpelstilskin was the one who aided him in saving her from the Sleeping Curse. He talks about the legend of the sword which could help her take back the kingdom. Snow White claimed she wasn't interested unless no more innocent lives would be lost. Prince Charming asked her to give it a chance since the sword was only a short ride away. Drawing another arrow into the bow, she wondered how the sword would help her defeat the Queen while Prince Charming redirected her aiming pose. As he stated with certainty, it would show the Queen who Snow White really was. This time, as she released the arrow, it hit the bull's-eye. Snow White and Prince Charming travelled on horseback and dismounted to go on foot towards the sword’s location. On the way there, he enlightened her about the power of the weapon, Excalibur, which was forged by a wizard named Merlin, and only the kingdom’s true ruler may wield it. When they arrived, the sword, nested in a large stone, was successfully pulled out by an astonished Snow White. The next day, Prince Charming helped Snow White prepare to face the Queen, who was expectant in Snow White's answer, but the princess told her she wouldn’t be surrendering the crown. True to her previous threats, the Queen began suffocating Grumpy to death as pa ayment for Snow White’s defiance, and threw back the other dwarves when they attempted to help him. Paralyzed by fear, Snow White, unsure of what to do, began to believe in herself after being reminded by the prince of what Excalibur symbolized. Snow White charged at the Queen, missing at first, but managed to cut her cheek; releasing Grumpy from the choke hold as Prince Charming and the dwarves hurried to his aid.
  • 14. At Snow White's bold declaration that the kingdom was hers, the Queen matched evenly with words, and retreated to her castle. Afterwards, Snow White, Prince Charming and the dwarves congregated in celebration of the victory. Having earned the dwarves' respect, Prince Charming was accepted by them. In the middle of making a toast with the dwarves to a new future, Snow White pushed in to confront him; upset at his lies about the deal and sword. Prince Charming reminded her that, even though the sword was fake, Snow White was able to show the Queen the kind of courage he always knew she had in her. From this, Snow White realized he never doubted her strength was greater than the Queen's, and she kissed him, because he knew her better than herself. * * * With the Queen out of the way, Prince Charming and Snow White began laying down further groundwork for gaining back the kingdom. Receiving news from Red Riding Hood that King George had hired a powerful hit-man, Lancelot, Prince Charming offered to stay behind and asked Snow White to run away to his mother's cabin to make sure she was alright. After the fight, he arrived at the cabin shortly before King George's army arrived to capture him. Although he emerged victorious, Ruth, worried about his well-being, ran outside and was shot by a poisoned arrow. Once Snow White and Lancelot, who still hadn't arrived there, rejoined the prince and his mother, they travelled to Lake Nostos, in hope to find the cure for the wound caused by the poisoned arrow. However, the lake's waters had dried up some time after the previous time Prince Charming had come to the lake and killed the Siren. Lancelot was able to find a small portion of water inside a shell and brought it over to Ruth. She drank it, but it seemed to have no effect. Knowing death
  • 15. was near, Ruth admitted her only regret was not living to see her son getting married to Snow White. Honouring her wish, Snow White asked Lancelot to perform a marriage ceremony. During the ceremony, Ruth died peacefully ,following the union. Prince Charming put Ruth's body in a carriage and showed Snow White his mother's necklace, which had the ability to predict the sex of a person's future firstborn. Saddened, Snow White began to break the news about her barrenness caused by King George when the necklace started to sway, and to her astonishment, she told him they would have a baby some time in the future, keeping the gender to herself. Prince Charming, overjoyed by this news, told her they would take back the kingdom as a family. Snow White realized Ruth only pretended to drink the lake water, and had given the actual water to Lancelot so that he could secretly give it to her in the chalice; thus breaking the barren curse. During Prince Charming and Snow White's war to take back the kingdom, the Evil Queen joined forces with King George. Near the end of the war, King George's armies succumbed to defeat first. Prince Charming and his wife set a trap for the Evil Queen, in which she was frozen by fairy dust by the Blue Fairy, and captured, thus putting an end to the war in the kingdom, once and for all. There was a war council meeting to discuss the Evil Queen's fate. Snow White did not want to have the Queen killed, and Jiminy Cricket agreed with her. Prince Charming was able to convince her otherwise, after everything she had done, and the execution was planned. At the execution, Regina announced that she was sorry...sorry that she had not been able to cause more pain before her death. The executioner's arrows were fired, but Snow White ordered them to stop and the arrows were frozen by the Blue Fairy just before they hit Regina. The Evil Queen was then taken back to her cell, while the rest of the kingdom watched her.
  • 16. Snow White discussed her decision to spare her former step-mother with Prince Charming. He thought she was too dangerous to be left alive, and that she would never change. Snow White believed that she did have the ability to change and that there was some good left in her. She believes this because Regina has saved her life in the past. Later, in the courtyard, Rumpelstilskin offered Snow White a way to prove if Regina was actually capable of changing. Snow White visited Regina in her prison cell. The Queen, Snow White said, was free to go, as Snow White had given her the opportunity to change. The cell door was opened, and the two walked out, but right as they were leaving, Regina choked Snow White and she attempted to stab Snow White with a knife she had found on her, to no effect. The knife had been enchanted by Rumpelstilskin, so it could not harm Snow White or her prince. He and his wife told Regina that she had failed to change, and she was banished from the kingdom forever. Snow White warned The Queen that if she ever attempted to harm anyone in her kingdom again, she would kill her, for she had already shown too much mercy to her, with no results. Prince Charming and Snow White finally got married, but their wedding was crashed by the Evil Queen. She vowed that she would destroy Snow White's happiness and told them she would give them a wedding gift: A happy day before her curse arrived, which would make sure that the only happy ending was hers. After she revealed this, Prince Charming threw his sword at her, but the Evil Queen vanished. Sometime after their own wedding, Prince Charming and Snow White attended Cinderella's wedding to Prince Thomas, as a couple. After hearing about Cinderella's plight with Rumpelstilskin, Prince Charming hatched a plan with Cinderella, Thomas, Grumpy, and the Blue Fairy to trap the Dark One using magic squid ink.
  • 17. The plan succeeds, though Prince Thomas disappeared as a price of Cinderella's broken deal with Rumpelstilskin. Therefore, Prince Charming imprisoned Rumpelstilskin in a special cell in a dungeon of their castle. * * * Months went by, and Snow White became pregnant, and they discover from Rumpelstilskin that their child would be their saviour when the pair visited him in prison. Though Prince Charming initially believed they were having a son, the Dark One revealed that they will have a daughter instead. Prince Charming and Snow White met with many of their allies to discuss how to stop the Queen's Curse from going into effect. While many of their allies proposed war, the Blue Fairy came with a magical tree and claimed that it would be able to save one person from the Evil Queen's Curse. Geppetto and Pinocchio were charged with the task of turning the tree into a wardrobe, so that the person would be able to get into it and be transported between worlds. On the day that the pair completed the wardrobe, the Evil Queen and her knights invaded their kingdom. Grumpy and Sleepy alerted the kingdom of the Curse's arrival, just as Snow White was going into labour. When Prince Charming attempted to take her to the wardrobe, Doc told him that she could not be moved. He instead settled down to encourage his wife, as she gave birth to Emma, their daughter. Emma was born right as the Queen's black knights were storming the castle, so Prince Charming took her to the wardrobe, fighting black knights along the way, and successfully evading them for a few precious moments. He managed to enter the room with the wardrobe and put Emma inside.
  • 18. As soon as he closed the doors, several black knights broke through the door to fight Prince Charming, who got stabbed and left for dead, only able to stay conscious long enough to see that Emma had vanished through the magical piece of furniture. When Snow White finally found him and kissed him, begging for him not to leave her, she thought that True Love's Kiss would bring him back to life immediately, but he remained unconscious. He was held in Snow White's arms while everyone was surrounded and swallowed by the black smoke from the dark curse, while the Evil Queen laughed loudly, celebrating her victory over the two lovers, who were now separated by death. - The End -
