I am writing to apply for a position in your International Graduate Program.
I am a final year Chemical Engineering student of the FederalUniversity of Technology Owerri(FUTO),
Imo State, Nigeria. I chose to study engineering in order to contribute my quota to developing civilization
and promoting the growth of society and my beloved country.
As an undergraduate, I have taken out time to amass a wealth of knowledge about my field of study and
future career by theoretical and practical means. I have excelled at my academic work and my
contributions to my department have been hailed by my supervisors. I have interned with such reputable
firms PRESTIGE PAINTS NIGERIA LTD and ORFEMA PHARMACEUTICALS NIGERIA LTD. I
sought out these jobs as a means of gaining experience about the corporate working environment, to
prepare me for the future and my involvement in the industry. I excelled in all the tasks assigned to me by
my bosses and was commended on my display of teamwork by my colleagues.
I have always sought out opportunities to improve myself and enlarge my skill set in order to be in a
position to avail myself of the opportunities I may encounter in future. I believe a man is a sum of what he
knows and the more he knows, the better the society is for.
At ORFEMA pharmaceuticals Nigeria LTD, I work(ed) majorly in the Quality control room. Here,I
understood the importance of Good manufacturing practices and the need to check for the Quality of
finished products. I was deployed to other sections such as the production department and the dispensing
room to gain more insight as to drug manufacture. My role as a member of the quality control room was
to analyze drug samples by performing approved tests such as friability test ,disintegration test and also
took part in water treatment. My ability to work efficiently under pressure and very little supervision gave
me more leverage as it depicted my probity.
I am grateful to your esteemed brand, Heineken, for this opportunity being offered to young men and
women, a chance to apply ourselves to the maximum. A chance offered to those who are willing to stand
with the best and take on whatever challenges the world may offer. I am particularly grateful because
solving problems and overcoming challenges is the essence of my being. I look forward to embarking on
