Will we be simply who we are now?
Or, will we be who God is calling us to be?
Troop 52 Celebrates 100 Years at All Saints!
Centennial Scout Sunday ~ February 3, 2013
We are a family of God. A parish family.
People who love Jesus and one another.
The Holy Spirit has done great things
among us for many decades.
The Holy Spirit has prospered and united us
most specially and mightily in 2012.
Now, we stand at the crossroads of decision:
Rest in this good place?
Or, go forward in faith?
Should we rest in our current prosperity? Or
will we use it to do greater things for our Lord?
The answer will be found in our hearts and in
the purity of our love and sacrifices for Jesus.
The answer will be found in what we are will-
ing to give Him of ourselves.
The Apostle Paul was a man of biblically his-
toric and heroic efforts for God. His
“accomplishments” in faith are beyond any-
thing any of us has done. Yet, after all that, he
still was compelled to write:
I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect.
But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on run-
ning and struggling to take hold of the prize. My
friends, I don’t feel that I have already arrived. But I
forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is
ahead. I run toward the goal, so that I can win the
prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that
God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.
Phil. 3:12-14
A NOTICE OF
ACTION, FAITH AND DISCERNMENT
On Sunday, May 19, All Saints Church will
hold its Annual Parish Meeting in the Great
Hall at 12:30pm. It will be a relatively historic
meeting because the Vestry will present a
Strategic Plan for our near future. The plan is
intended to be an articulation of God’s direc-
tion and will for this wonderful church.
The plan will be built upon the Spirit inspired
visions, thinking and prayers placed in the
hearts and minds of our parishioners – the
disciples of Jesus in this place.
WE ARE AT A CROSSROADS – and crucial
decisions in the Lord need to be made. The
next few months will see our parish immersed
in the discernment and planning process.
A PARTIAL INVENTORY
OF OUR 2012-13 MINISTRY AND WORK
A great city cannot be built without infrastruc-
ture. First, its planners, engineers and con-
struction crews must provide water, sewer,
drainage, electricity, gas, communications,
roads and much more. Likewise, when a great
church is to be built, its infrastructure must be
first installed.

4. Stewardship is a matter
of the heart.
It’s not about how much
of my money will I give
to God …
But how much of
God’s money will I keep
for myself?
What do you give back
to God from the blessings
you have received?
I am making my 2013 pledge to All Saints Church for a total amount of $____________________
I will make my pledge donations [ ] Weekly [ ] Monthly [ ] Annually to fulfill that pledge.

What if God called you to give beyond
your comfort level? You'd probably
feel somewhat afraid.
Would you dismiss the calling as irra-
tional and irresponsible — or would
you take advantage of the harvest op-
portunity for which God had explicitly
prospered you in the first place?
If we believe that God owns every-
thing, including the comings and go-
ings of our finances then we have noth-
ing to fear and no reason not to give.
Giving money to God's work is not a
loss. It's an investment with a very high
return rate, and what is given can never
be taken away.
The money we give
God will survive eco-
nomic downturns. It
is the most secure
investment we will
ever make.
Financial giving aligns
your life with God's agenda. Good
stewards are like a successful restau-
rant. They result in repeat business.
If we are generous with the resources
God gives us — then He will continue
to use us for His glory.
The crowning achievement of over-
coming the fear of giving is the
moment you begin to experience the
joy of giving!

What will you do with your handful of seed?
God has given each of us the opportunity to partner with him in the greatest work of all: kingdom work.
As stewards of his resources, we have a choice. We can sow the seed or we can lock it away out of fear.
What is Stewardship? It’s NOT about Money!
As of February 11, we’ve received 156 pledges for 2013 totaling $710,251. That includes
18 new pledges and 59 increased pledges from 2012! Thank you to those who have made
their faith commitment and helping us build toward our $1,960,702 budget goal this year.
If you have not yet made your annual pledge, will you please take time today or this week
to prayerfully consider your giving to All Saints this year — and then, either fill out and
return the form below, or go online to make your pledge there (directions are below).
Stewardship is about getting our hearts centered on Jesus, putting our complete trust in
Him, and in faith doing one of the most difficult things in life — offering our hard earned
money back to God. Jesus gave His all for us, so why do we feel content giving any less?
Biblical generosity is a journey, not a destination. It may be an uncomfortable and difficult
message for many to keep hearing, but it will be an incredibly rewarding journey for those
who choose to listen and follow! God bless you in your discernment!
5. Please detach and send this form to: All Saints Church 3 Chevy Chase Circle Chevy Chase, MD 20815
As Christians, we’ve been entrusted with a stewardship:
the things we call our own are not really ours, but God's.
We have no possessions. We don’t even own ourselves.
Because we are His servants all that we have is His.
According to Scripture, we are accountable to God for every-
thing. Whether we have much or little, our key responsibility
as His stewards remains the same — faithfulness.
Give generously to him and do so without
a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord
your God will bless you in all your work and in
everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 15:10

Global Outreach Donates $48,000 in 2012

increase in interest and commitment to missions. Glory be to God!
