Nodes Industry Report 2017
Inspiration from utilities around the world
A Gartner survey shows that the amount of downloaded apps is expected to
reach 268 billion during 2017, and with utilities delivering such crucial
services to people all over the world, the industry has a large potential with
this huge number of downloads.
Based on data collected before the creation of this report, it appears that
utilities around the world are taking the digital and mobile transformation
seriously and the industry embraces many of the opportunities that mobile
technology offers.
In this report we have gathered 50 apps from utility companies around the
world for your inspiration.
During research, it became apparent from the Google Play Store and App Store
that there are four overall categories within the utility app industry:
● Apps for utility end-users (customers)
● Apps for investors
● Apps for professionals
● Apps for internal purposes (employees)
Particularly the latter category is more difficult to provide insights for and
describe in detail, since these apps tend to be confidential and harder to gain
access to. Despite this, they are still included in our report, as there are a
growing number of employee facing apps in all parts of the world.

an easier way of paying bills through e-billing.
Users can view, pay and see all previous bills via
the app.
The app is a tool for staying on track with meter
