America had their beginning in
Europe particular related to
Elizabethan poor law of England.

6. 1. So in first phase is considered as colonial period 1620-1776.
so it is first paid program to develop the America the
formation of alm house it is actually providing a place for
resident poor people. The first alm house was built in
Massachusetts in 1662 and started functioning in 1685.
2. some hospital that is Philadelphia general hospital and
Bellevue hospital in new york . they started a work in form
of alm houses. They used to take care of both mental and
physical wellbeing of people.
3. The formation of association the first association was scot
charitable which was established in Boston school. so they
intented to help sick and poor people after the proper
investigation of their background.

emerged in this period. I need to
talk about a nurse, educator or
social reformer who gives a
complete efforts to make a better

emerged in 2nd phase but
implement in 3rd phase so the
movement of scientific charity
in1870. the scientific charity of
society gives the education and
unemployment to poor people for
permanent relief to this bad
condition.

happens in America. but the famous
settlement house was considered Chicago
hull house started by Jane Adams and Ellen
gates Starr in 1889.

marry Richmond written in 1917 the first
book of social diagnoses. In 1922 she
written what is social case work and she
introduced first method and principles of
social work.
12. It is concluded through above discussion that
social work has developed in USA too quickly
compared to other parts of the world at very
beginning. The history of social work in USA
can be divided into the following stages
