5. Group Presentations Task
• Review the group presentation rubric
• Watch the video and take notes on areas
of excellence and areas for improvement
• As a group, complete a rubric for the
presenters
8. Group Presentation Commenting Due 4/20 by
midnight
• Choose one group presentation that you are interested in watching.
Answer the following question in a 1-2 minute audio or video
comment via Voicethread:
• 1) What aspects of the presentation were excellent/well
done/positive?
• 2) What aspects of the presentation could be improved upon?
9. Past Unreal Conditional Review
• Example:
If women had not started to vote in the 1920s, I wouldn’t have
been able to vote after I turned 18.
OR
I wouldn’t have been able to vote after turning 18 if women had not started
voting in the 1920s.

• 1) I will display a picture.
• 2) You have 2 minutes to make a correct,
past unreal conditional sentence AND
write it on the board.
• 3) At the end of 2 minutes, I will judge
each sentence. All verb tenses must be
correct to receive a point for the game.

• (imperative to infinitive)
• The teacher told us to open our books.
18. Quote 2
• Bill said, “You have to pay the tax.”
• (simple present to simple past)
• Bill told them (that) they had to pay the
tax.”
19. Quote 3
• Mary asked, “John, are you studying
political science?”
• (present progressive to past progressive)
• Mary asked John if he was studying
political science.
20. Quote 4
• “Amy prepared a delicious meal,” Mark
said.
• (simple past to past perfect)
• Mark said (that) Amy had prepared a
delicious meal.
21. Quote 5
• “Sam, have you ever eaten at that
restaurant?” Jack asked.
• (present perfect to past perfect)
• Jack asked Sam if he had ever eaten at
that restaurant.
22. Game
• 1) I will display a quote.
• 2) You have 2 minutes to change the
quote to reported speech AND write it on
the board.
• 3) At the end of 2 minutes, I will judge
each sentence. All verb tenses must be
correct to receive a point for the game.

• Chapter 7 test (the last one!) = Thursday
– main ideas, details, past unreal conditional,
reported speech, and chapter 7 vocabulary.
