2012-Present Game Designer – Paradox Development Studio
Worked on the titles Stellaris, Runemaster, Magicka: Wizard Wars
and Magicka 2. Roles included: team lead, designer (systems,
combat, single-/multiplayer AI, UX), scripter, writer, level designer,
VFX artist, localization manager.
2011-2012 Junior Designer - Arrowhead Game Studios
Worked with level design, AI, and mission scripting on an
undisclosed project, as well as DLC for Magicka. Spearheaded
development with a team focusing on prototyping and implementing
new features.
2011 Localisation Tester - Sony Computer Entertainment Europe
Worked as a Swedish localisation tester in Sony's Liverpool office on
such projects as Resistance 3, Uncharted 3 and Little Big Planet 2's
DLC. Even did some technical translation work for the PS4.
2008-2010 PR manager and Webmaster - Villa Stranna AB
Part-time job with managing a hotell's website and advertising.
2010 Translator - Svensk Talteknologi AB
Summer job as a translator for an application aimed to help people
with reading- and/or writing disabilities.
Fields of knowledge
Game Engine Tools Have worked with several game engines tools, primarily Autodesk
Stingray, Unity and Unreal Engine, for everything from level design
to asset creation.
Also experienced in using in-game editors from such games as “Little
Big Planet” to build levels, as well as prototyping mechanics using
board-games. I've also got experience making Pen&Paper
RPGs from hobby projects.
Coding & Scripting Have worked in LUA and C++ based projects and mainly done
content scripting, but also prototyping, gameplay systems and AI
logic.
I also have basic knowledge of both C# and Javascript, and have
worked with constructing websites using HTML and CSS.
Project Management Well experienced in working using Scrum methods, as well as
Kanban and general Agile. I've managed teams and acted as Scrum
Master, helping projects to focus and get results.
I've used the project management and bug-tracking tools JIRA and
Hansoft to plan, organize team members and track progress.
Computer Software I'm well versed with computers, mainly ones running Microsoft's
operating systems. I can handle all types of MS Office-like program
suits as well as online-based versions.
I frequently use Photoshop or Paint.NET to work with 2D images. I
am experienced in video editing using Adobe Premiere and know my
way around 3D models in Autodesk Maya.
Writing I'm very well experienced with creating narratives, both linear and
non-linear, and overall story structures for projects. Besides writing
main story lines and randomized events for single player games I've
also written item lore to be used for merchandise and multiplayer
games.
I've done a lot of comedy writing, but can also handle more serious
topics.
Localization I've worked in all fields of localization, from translation and testing,
to ordering and handling deliveries from external providers.
Education
2007-2010 (College) “Digital Games” program at Blekinge Institute of Technology
Received a Bachelor of Science degree from BTH in Karlshamn,
Sweden. Majored in media technology with a focus on game design.
2004-2007 (High School) “Social-Science” program at Herrgårdsgymnasiet
Graduated with a focus on cultural studies from the high school in
Säffle, Sweden.
Other merits
2009 – 2010 Starting an independent game studio
Started Parakeet Studios and worked as a level designer, designer
and project manager in the team in. The game “Accelerando” was the
main project and was pitched to publishers at Game Connection in
San Francisco.
2010 Independent game project
Worked as a design and writing consultant on the 2D-platform game
“Mystling”. Also did some consulting on project management.
2009 Gaming podcast
Started a Swedish gaming podcast called “inlevel.se” where we
reviewed games and discussed various gaming related topics for a
year.
2007 Final project at Herrgårdsgymnasiet
Wrote a teen-fantasy novel called ”Den siste profeten” (“The last
prophet”) as my final project in high-school.
2007 Certificate of Advanced English – Grade B
Took the test for advanced English knowledge and received with the
second highest grade.
