Town Centre Manager- I have managed the town centre retail partnership and
operations for four and a half years working with three Heads of Service
during that time. I have guided the section through the establishment of the
BID from inception to the recent re-election. I manage 8 office /supervisory
staff and 28 frontline staff. I have introduced efficiency savings where there
has been a further 6 front line staff not replaced. The areas I have covered are
markets, car parking, events, toilets, town hall, bus station, station. I have
delivered a programme of marketing and events to stimulate footfall into the

integral part of the role. We typically create a footfall of 9.6 million people per
year into the town centre with a safe and efficient accommodation of 23,000
throughput attendance at the Christmas switch on event with 8,000 people in
the market place each year. I manage an income budget of circa £2.5 million
and circa £1 million pounds staffing, establishment and maintenance budget.
I manage disciplinary, performance and absence/ attendance management.
We have the best attendance figures in the council which is a monumental
turnaround from one of the worst attendance records when I was appointed in
July 2010.
