BUILDING A TEAM - T TRUST. Belief in the strength of the team. Do you trust them? While trust is earned, we need to take risks on people. We need to give them reponsibilties. We need to stretch (but not over stretch them.)E EMPOWER. Give increasing authority to your team. KNOWLEDGE is power. Teach them. Allow them to make mistakes.A ACCEPTANCE. Recognize achievement in your team. Acceptance and Recogniton are the number one needs of a person. Express GRATITUDE. Tell them THEY DO GOOD WORK. Tell them they are appreciated. Recognize their achievement in the TEAM. When people recognize that they are part of an acievement bigger than themselves, they will step out in leadership.M TO MENTOR. Everyone needs a mentor. I need a mentor. I need somebody to speak LIFE into me. I need somebody to teach me new things, via new practices or new instructions. Mentoring is done in THREE STEPS: You watch, I DO everything [LEADING BY EXAMPLE. With encouragement, people CATCH ON] ; ALLOW them to Do part, I DO a PART; They DO ALL, I WATCH. In doing PRSENTATIONS, I iniitally MODEL, then I do a part, while my team does some of the part [We assess and learn from the opportunity]; Lastly I watch as the team does ALL [ I re-affirm therigroing CONFIDENCE and MASTERY of the job].
