1. Synopsis for ‘City Life vs Countryside’
This is a short film which is going to show you the difference between life in the city and
countryside. Our aim of having this film is to show you the negative aspects of life in the city
i.e. Drugs, Alcohol, Pollution, noise etc. We also want to show you how calm, peaceful and
fun life can be in the countryside.
In this short film there are five people but because we need to have more than five
characters in the film, all of us are playing more than one character. All the characters in this
film are important in one way or another. The names of the characters are:
Margaret
Police
Sam
Eric

David/Ben
Eva/Jennifer
Celia/Sasha
This short film starts off with people dealing drugs. This was set in the city, to show the negative side
of city. We then go into another scene, which is set in the countryside. Here we show the hard-
working men, who are talking about going to dinner at someone’s house. In this scene everyone’s in
a really good mood, this shows the advantages of living in city life.
After this we show someone getting robbed. This is also set in the city to show how tough it can be
to live there, and to also show what types of people live there, as well as showing that it’s dangerous
to live there. Once that scenes done, we go back into the countryside life, where people are having
dinner together, and showing their appreciation of each other being there.
Then, we show city life again, and there are the police men/woman who come in and arrest two
people for dealing drugs. This then goes back to the countryside, when two lovers are talking to each
other about taking their life further, and buying a house together.
In the last scene for city life it shows people being jailed, and those two people arguing, which shows
aggression. The last scene for the countryside is again the couple talking about getting married and
starting a family.
Overall, this short film, tells you how peaceful it is to live in a countryside compared to the city life.
This film is set in various parts of our school, to show the two different places (city and countryside),
and by having different settings that definitely makes the film that much more interesting.
