2. INTRODUCTION:
•Paper is made from wood using the ”Kraft” process.
•This is a part of mechanical, chemical process that produce a strong pulp .
•It has several disadvantages, in terms of complexity and set up costs as well as
having a low pulp yield and producing unpleasant-smelling sulfur compounds . But
it is internationally the most widely used pulp and paper process .
•Paper making is a complex process in which paper is produced from pulp, filler,
water and chemicals.
•Our goal is paper making to produce 20 tonnes per month.
3. RAW MATERIALS :
1.)Fibrous Raw Material:
Paper Pulp
Reuse Pulp
Miscellaneous Cellulosic Pulp
Speciality Pulp
2.)Non Fibrous Raw Materials:
Inorganic Raw Material
Organic Raw materials
4. Physical properties of paper:
• Basis weight
• Thickness
• Density
• Smoothness
• Roughness
• porosity
5. Chemical properties of paper:
• A paper based product typically contains 90-99% cellulose fiber.
• PH-Slightly Acidic.
• Surface Properties-coated with titanium dioxide to improve the thickness ,smoothness,
brightness and printability.
• Thermal stability-Relatively low.
• Water absorption-it has ability to absorb water depends on factors like fibre composition,
sizing agent and coating
7. Uses:
• Paper is generally used for writing purposes.
• It is used to produce eco friendly and reusable carry bags.
• It is used as a manufacture of tickets , money and cheque.
• It is used for printing books , newspapers.
• It used for packaging and wrapping objects.
