4. Matthew 28:1-7 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Has Risen
28 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary
went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to
the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes
were white as snow. 4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead
men.
5 The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who
was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he
lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you
into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
5. John 20:19-20 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Appears to His Disciples
19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the
disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the
Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said,
“Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his
hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw
the Lord.
6. John 20:29
Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed;
blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
7. Our duty as
Christians:
Matthew 28:16-20
Matthew 28:16-20 New International Version
(NIV)
The Great Commission
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to
the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but
some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and
said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely
I am with you always, to the very end of the
age.”
8. The doors may be closed but the church is still open!
The people are still the church, you are the Church!
9. As Christians are we doing our part?
-Are we ministering to
others, as the Great
Commission stated?
-Are we helping the
needy?
-Are we helping the sick?
-Are we here to help?
10. Encourage one Another!
Hebrews 10:24-25 New International Version
(NIV)
24 And let us consider how we may spur one
another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not
giving up meeting together, as some are in the
habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and
all the more as you see the Day approaching.
11. HE went to the
cross as a Lamb.
He will return
as a roaring
lion! The lion
of Judah!
Rev 5: 1-14.
12. Revelation 5 New International Version (NIV)
The Scroll and the Lamb
5 Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with
seven seals. 2 And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the
scroll?” 3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. 4 I wept
and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5 Then one of the elders said
to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the
scroll and its seven seals.”
6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living
creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God sent out
into all the earth. 7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had
taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and
they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. 9 And they sang a new song,
saying:
13. “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and
language and people and nation.10.You have made them to be a kingdom and
priests to serve our God, and they will reign[b] on the earth.”
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon
thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the
living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:“Worthy is the
Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and
honor and glory and praise!”13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and
under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:“To him who sits on the
throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
14 The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
14. -Have peace in Christ
through this storm.
-Christ died for you and
the remission of your sins.
-He conquered death, and
rose from the grave.
He holds the future in his
hands!
15. John 3:16 New
International Version
(NIV)
16 For God so loved the
world that he gave his
one and only Son, that
whoever believes in
him shall not perish
but have eternal life.
Acts 2:38 New
International
Version (NIV)
38 Peter replied,
“Repent and be
baptized, every
one of you, in
the name of
Jesus Christ for
the forgiveness
of your sins. And
you will receive
the gift of the
Holy Spirit.
