The Harlem Globetrotters are performing in Duluth this week. Zeus McClurkin, a Globetrotter who holds the Guinness World Record for most basketball dunks in one minute, met with fans at a local mall. He spent time signing autographs and showing tricks to excited children. One little girl was thrilled to meet him. Zeus inspires kids through basketball to work hard and pursue their dreams. Tickets for the Globetrotters game range in price, but it will be an entertaining show for all ages.

GlobetrotterStory
1. The Harlem Globetrotters are performing in Duluth this week at the AMSOIL arena and
the community even got a chance to meet and greet one of their great players. Zeus McClurkin,
number thirty for the globetrotters, is a Guinness World Records record-holder for the most
basketball slam dunks in one minute. He set the record at fifteen dunks, all while doing it with
asthma.
The meet and greet was held at the Miller Hill Mall where I got in touch with Zeus and was able
to get a first hand perspective on what the Globetrotters are all about. He smiled and gave all
the time in the world to every kid that wanted an autograph; showing them how to spin the ball
and just taking the time to talk about anything. The kids enjoyed to watch him spin the ball on
his finger the most.
One little girls smile seem to brighten up the room when she watched him do the trick, and I was
able to have a conversation with her, and her father about their plans to see the globetrotters.
Local resident Mike Roberts spoke for his shy daughter saying that it was going to be her first
time seeing the globetrotters and that his daughter Teague was “beyond excited.” Teague had
the opportunity to meet and get an autograph from a Harlem Globetrotter, and also gets to see
them play, which is a very exciting thing to do at such a young age. If you weren’t as lucky as
Teague, and you didn’t get a chance to meet Zeus at the mall, you still have the opportunity to
see him play this Thursday.
The globetrotters are known for their acrobatic basketball games that will leave just about
anyone in awe. I had a chance to ask Zeus what it’s like to be a globetrotter during the meet and
greet. “I never thought I would be a globetrotter, I played a lot of different sports and expected to
play soccer, and my dream was to be on the Olympic men's beach volleyball team.” He goes on
to say, “Being here now, as a globetrotter, is one of the greatest things that has ever happened
in my life and now I’m all about inspiring kids to do and become something great no matter what
gets in your way.” Zeus lives up to his inspirations by being an inspiration of his own and shows
good character that any kid could look up to.
Tickets are available for the show or at the door at the arena, and vary from nineteen for upper
level seating to three-hundred dollars for front row tickets. Regardless of where you shit,
although, a good time will be all that is expected. For those who have never seen the
globetrotters, go buy your tickets. This is one of the few stops for the globetrotters in MN, and if
you can't make the Duluth event they will be playing at the Target Center in Minneapolis that
same weekend.
