3. The PATRON VIRTUAL TRUCK truck driving simulator was created in response to
transport companies' real and often urgent training needs.
The project is the effect of cooperation between Simmersive (a software house with
experience in VR software) and Best Driver, who, in creating Patron VT, combined
many years of experience in the transport and training industries with the latest
technology solutions.

8. The Patron VT is a training vehicle of the
latest generation, more economical to drive
(as it does not consume fuel and does not
require inspections or repairs), environment-
friendly and much less expensive than a truck.

10. The simulator was created to facilitate driver
training in the early stages of learning.
However, the software allows for initial learning
for driving candidates who have never sat in a
truck before and for "veteran drivers" who can
train in advanced driving techniques (e.g. eco
driving).
Patron does not require the constant presence
of a trainer - it allows the user to learn and
practice on their own in a safe and stress-free
environment.
The linear motors used on the motion platform
allowed for obtaining six degrees of freedom,
i.e. movement and rotation in three planes.
Combined with VR technology, it allows Patron
to accurately and realistically recreate all the
movements and sensations of driving a regular
truck. This facilitates more effective learning.

11. All control and power supply equipment are
located in the simulator platform. The device
does not have any additional external
components. The customer receives
the complete device, which requires only
connecting it to a 230V socket.
The realistic training program, combined with
the motion platform, allows the user to easily
translate the experience obtained in the
simulator into the driver's professional
experience later on.
Patron uses a real seat from a real truck, which
meets all ergonomics and safety requirements
and enhances the user’s immersion.

12. The multifunctional steering wheel is fully
adjustable, allowing the user to adjust its
settings to their preferences and comfort level.
Additionally, Patron uses real indicator stalks
and jake brake switches.

pedal and the brake pedal, has a wide range of
adjustments and can be adapted to the needs

13. The VR goggles, a key system element, are
a well-tested product provided by Oculus.
They guarantee high comfort of use, work
in 2560x1440 or 3664x1920 resolutions,
and offer refresh rates of 80-90 Hz and
a field of view of 100-110 degrees.

A delivery vehicle with a tail lift is the only thing
necessary to transport the simulator anywhere.
There are no specific requirements for the
room in which it will be placed.

14. Software
customized to the needs of the user
• The training includes both standard and advanced maneuvers.
From simple straight drives to complicated parking sequences under
loading ramps in all configurations, i.e. using the right or left mirror.
• Exercises are divided into difficulty levels: from easy, empty training
yards to very busy parking lots and cargo bases, where the driver must
show extreme precision and delicacy.
• Patron offers over 100 km of roads of various status, complexity
and traffic intensity: from yards next to company premises, through
streets in cities, to expressways and motorways. Users can also
encounter infrastructure elements like parking lots or gas stations.
• Patron enables training during day and night, in all light and
weather conditions (e.g. rain, snow, fog or strong wind). The intensity
of weather phenomena can be adjusted.
• The simulator allows the user to move around in the presence of
other road users who impact the vehicle the trainee is driving. The
movement of other vehicles forces the trainee to behave appropriately,
simultaneously allowing the trainer or examiner to assess the driver's
abilities accurately.
• The software is available in three languages: Polish, English and
Ukrainian.

truck with a central axle trailer, a tractor unit
with a semi-trailer set and a coach bus.
The simulator was built to resemble a DAF
XF truck, but its construction was prepared so
that other components could be used,
depending on the needs and requirements of
the customer. Their replacement is simple:
install the new element on a plug & play basis.
