Presentation Design Tips!
1.
2. “Color can make you look away or draw you in.
It has the power to create an emotion as
powerful as music can. Color helps us
instantly understand our environment. It is
intrinsically important to our everyday life.
It is all around us all the time and helps us
to relate and to respond to our world, even
if we generally take it for granted.”

3. “Green is calming. It’s a
natural color that you see
everywhere in nature. It
refreshes the viewer. It’s
difficult to get upset in
such an environment”
“Yellow is the
epitome of happiness.
It helps people be
more optimistic. It
is joyful and also
pushes people to act”

“Orange enhances a
feeling of vitality
and happiness. Like
red, it draws
attention and shows
movement but is not
as overpowering”

4. ● If you are presenting in a room with good lighting
then a white background with black or dark text is
recommended.
● If you are presenting in a dark room (such as a large
hall), then a dark background (dark blue, grey, etc.)
with white or light text is recommended.
● Cool colors work best for backgrounds as they appear
to recede away from us into the background.
● Warm colors generally work best for objects in the
foreground (such as text) because they appear to be
coming at us.

5. For this
example I
pulled an
icon of a
leaf. On the
left we have
a plain black
leaf & on the
right we have
a watercolor
green leaf.
As you can
see, the
color usage
of the green
leaf adds a
layer of
depth and
vibrancy to
the page in
contrast to
the black
leaf!
