To Whom It May Concern,
Nancy Stepien is passionate about helping women with cancer.
I was the former director of the Home Health Care program at Discount Drug Mart, which is a regional
drug store chain with 70 stores in the state of Ohio. Nancy approached me with her concept of selling wigs, along
with many other products to help cancer victims. Needless to say, we hired her and she built a product line like
none other in the country.
Here are some of the highlights that Nancy accomplished:
*She met with vendors, evaluating who had the highest quality product, with the most profitable return for the
company
*Developed a roll out plan of this new product line for the stores
*Wrote all training manuals for employees
*Wrote Policy and Procedure manual
*Trained employees
*Developed a logo, and created all marketing materials
*Contacted, and was featured in many print publications, along with radio & TV
*She marketed and educated many groups and organizations in the Northeast Ohio arena such as hospitals,
physician offices, cancer support groups, as well as direct to consumers.
*She quickly identified that this product line was not included in many insurance plans. She educated to them as to
why this product line needed to be included and proceeded to her first contract with Anthem/Blue Cross and Blue
Shield, covering these product lines across the state of Ohio.
*She then pursued and obtained many other insurance contracts, many of which Discount Drug Mart didn’t have,
such Aetna, United Health Care and Humana.
*Consistently increased sales by at least 30% each month.
These are just a few of Nancy’s accomplishments. Nancy is a highly motivated, self-directed person. She is
passionate about helping people with cancer and is a very well educated on her product line. She has excellent
business sense, while being compassionate to her customers.
Sincerely,
Karen Houser R.Ph.
