Editor's Notes
Good afternoon. I am excited to share my professional self with you.
My professional reputation is the foundation of my work ethic.
Robert Shea quote: Lets people know I am how I like to gain a variety of skills whether it’s how the phone system works, how to fix the jammed copy machine, substitute for the receptionist or represent the company at a business meeting or fundraising event
No job is too big no job is too small
In reference letters a common thread used to describe me is dependable
I am the person who is willing to step forward when needed instead of being defined by the job title I hold
Everything I do I do it with a sense of urgency
In several positions I’ve held I my work ethic and skills have made others view me as valuable. The first time this happened was while I worked a second job at Blockbuster while I was teaching. A customer commented you are always working hard and so helpful. If you want a job at Chrysler I can get you in.
Lesson learned while at Detroit Urban League was know your worth . Although I started out as FDS other duties were added without the pay
Voluntary Layoff
2 other layoffs – from that I took advantage of the help given to me through a job coach and decide to obtain my masters degree
Classroom teacher – I am a facilitator self contained classroom I do everything this relates back to my work ethic no job is too big no job is too small
My responsibilities in non-profits developed my grant writing skills, facilitator, leadership skills and program management skills these experiences have allowed me to become the Program Management Specialist for the Office of Talent Development and Performance Management
My five year plan professionally and personally is to be up for anything and be open to all possibilities and opportunities.
