“The Architectural of Arabic
Calligraphy”
Exploded Diagram
Arabic calligraphy has a
beginning, a process and an
ending. Arabic calligraphy
begins with a single dot,which
is based on width of the Arabic
calligrapher pen. Then this
single dot follows a certain
ruleand creates a beautiful
and hormonious art piece.
Throughout, history Architects
who were inspired by Arabic
calligraphy has always use
the end product of the arabic
c a l l i g r a p h y . W h e r e a s , t h e
project design focuses on the
process, the technical part
of the arabic calligraphy.
The technical part of the
arabic calligraphy is hidden,
which is the real strength
behind thebeauty of Arabic
calligraphy. Basically, the
design is an inside out concept.
The technical part of arabic
calligraphy is exposed to
the world while the outside
which is the end product of
Arabic calligrpahy is all
over the interior spaces.
The outside of the project
depicts the structure of the
Arabic calligraphy while the
interior spaces are full of
the 3d Arabic calligraphy
sculptures.The design of the
Arabic calligraphy school
and exhibition,is inspired
by grids.Grids being an
essential part of the Arabic
calligraphy. The design starts
withthe creating firstly site
grids. The wind direction
from the northwest createsthe
first grids on the site. Then
the sun diagram produces the
second gridson the site.
Intersection of theses grids
creates the vertical columns
on the site. Depending on
theses vertical columns the
conceptual grids are created.
