Three uncapped seamers in for Australia against SA tour
Australia have called in the uncapped Daniel Worall, Joe Mennie and Chris Tremain for the One
Day International series in South Africa. Mennie and Worrall were driving forces in South
Australia's run to the final in last year's Matador One-Day Cup, while Tremain claimed 36
wickets in the Sheffield Shield for Victoria. Rod Marsh, the national selector, stressed that the
pace threesome will support Josh Hasting and Scott Boland in the upcoming SA tour and in the
one-off ODI against Ireland.
Pat Cummins, James Pattinson, Nathan Coulter Nile and Peter Siddle were all ruled out of the
squad due to damages. In addition to this, Usman Khawaja showed dismal recitals in the two
ODIs he featured in Sri Lanka and was ultimately left out of the squad. He could only register 6
and 0 in these matches. Australian spin attackers Adam Zampa and Nathan Lyon were also let
off from the squad. The tour comprises six ODIs with the first against Ireland on September 27
followed by five against South Africa beginning on September 30.
