2. PENDAHULUAN
• Fleksibilitas merupakan komponen yang penting dalam beraktivitas seharihari. Fleksibilitas
merupakan mobilitas sendi dan elastisitas otot yang dapat menjangkau maksimum gerakan sendi
dari berbagai posisi. Untuk dapat melakukan gerakan tersebut maka, dibutuhkan ketangkasan dan
keterampilan yang sesuai elastisitas serat otot (Valdivia, 2009)
• Salah satu otot yang harus dijaga fleksibilitasnya adalah daerah tungkai. Untuk menghindari
pemendekan otot atau ketegangan terjadi maka olahragawan harus menjaga fleksibilitas ototnya.
• Fleksibilitas tubuh terutama tungkai sangat diperlukan oleh seorang atlit anak-anak maupun
dewasa, karena seorang atlit seringkali harus bergerak mengubah arah dengan cepat dan lincah
(Wahyuni dan Isnaini, 2004).
3. DEFINISI
• Menurut tite juliantine dkk (2007:3.17) flexibility adalah
kemampuan seseorang untuk dapat melakukan gerakan dengan
ruang gerak seluaas luasnya dalam persendian.
• Menurut , sajoto(1988:51)flexibility adalah kemampuan
persendian, ligament, dan tendo di sekitar persendian
melaksanakan gerak seluas luasnya.
4. Ada beberapa keuntungan bagi atlet yang memiliki kualitas
flexibility yang baik di antaranya
1. Akan memudahkan atlet dalam menampilkan berbagai kemampuan gerak
keterampilan
2. Menghindari diri dalam kemungkinan terjadi cedera
3. Memungkinkan atket untuk dapat melakukan gerakan yang ekstrim
4. Memperlancar aliran darah sampai pada serabut otot

keadaan fleksibillity antara tulang dan
persendiaan
