Notice: The road into Cataloochee is a moderately steep, very windy and narrow
mountain road. Persons driving large vehicles and/or pulling trailers are advised to use
extreme caution.
All three campgrounds in the Valley, i.e. Cataloochee campground, horse camp, and
group camp, require advance reservations. Cell phone coverage in the Valley is very poor
and there is no provision for reserving or paying for a site once in the Valley.
Reservations may be made by calling 877-444-6777 or at www.recreation.gov.
