In this presentation, Anudeep introduces SMAC and associated trends. Anudeep is interested in doing Big Data Analytics to provide accurate product suggestions to customers. He is also interested in UI/UX development.
2. SMAC Introduction
➔ SMAC is the convergence of four trending technologies – Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud –
in an effort to create a new ecosystem in the business world brings organizations closer to its
customers.
➔ Social media has provided businesses with new ways to reach out and get in touch with its
customer base.
➔ Mobile platforms presents a plethora of services thereby changing the way customers utilize
the products and services offered by organizations.
➔ Analytics gives businesses the tools to identify and analyse its customer’s usage patterns and
then target them with the right products and services at the right time.
➔ Cloud computing allows businesses to adapt themselves to the changing markets by giving
them access to the latest in technologies, tools and database at least expenses/overhead
costs. This allows them to have a quick foothold in emerging markets.
The above stack essentially helps in improving the customer’s experience and trust in the
organization – both which, after all, are the grinding wheels of the business world.

➔ According to ASSOCHAM, the experts predict that the confluence of SMAC -- social
media, mobility, analytics, and cloud computing -- will be a potent and leading business-
technology enabler of the next decade.
➔ Amazon reports that 30% of its sales were due to its analytics-based recommendation
engine.
➔ Facebook quotes that majority of its users utilize its services on a mobile platform.
➔ Businesses spend up to four times the cost in IT than the do in innovation. Cloud
computing can be seen as a tool to reverse this trend.
➔ Corporations like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc. have started buying various tech
enabled start-ups in order to get along the SMAC bandwagon.
➔ The recent increase in the number of mobile users is only going to help the businesses
grow by giving them access to a pool of potential customers.
➔ Presence of the businesses online is going to provide them a common channel to interact
with customers and hence guarantee customer satisfaction.
➔ SMAC is leading to the emergence of "Next-Shoring“, which allows manufacturers to
increase the speed at which product is replenished on store shelves lowering inventory
costs.

services suggestions to users
➔ UI/UX design to optimize system usage as a whole.
➔ Application gateways to interoperate/integrate diverse range of applications and
user services.
