Recommendations based on discussions:
• Collaboration with relevant government
agencies for distinguishing seagoing
traditional fishers and make separate list for
them.
• The seagoing traditional fishers should be
included in the mainstream of development
and government’s ‘social safety net’ services
during lean period
• Including seagoing fishers in bank loan and
insurance facilities on simple conditions
9. Lesson Learnt
• Its hard to manage fund for this kind of
development initiative for traditional
seagoing fishermen
• Scarcity of skilled manpower to carry
out this kind of innovative projects
• These communities is deprived from
the social safety net
• Unavailability of strong mobile
network and technology support
