Small and Large Scale Research and Management experiences
 Began career as a research assistant for piloting Problem Based Learning in Medical
Colleges in Bangladesh and scaling up thereafter.
 Co-Authored research proposals, concept notes, managed four large scale research
activities analyzed data in the field of Domestic violence and women empowerment; i.e.
(i) One large scale cross sectional surveys (ii) One large scale community based randomized
control trial (iii) Psychometric research for reliability and validity of scale (iv) Five year follow-up
study on maternal and child health. These projects were in collaboration with Emory
University and University of Uppsala and funded by fhi360 and Swedish SIDA.
 Project management experience as coordinator of country wide infectious disease
outbreak and surveillance program at fourteen tertiary healthcare sites in Bangladesh
funded by Center for Disease Control, Atlanta, USA in collaboration with the
Government of Bangladesh.
 Developed research proposals and completed two independent public health
researches during two Masters theses (MPH and MSc in ECD).
 The quantitative cross sectional design used for the Master of Public Health thesis
investigated dose-response relationship between arsenic in drinking water and
breastmilk arsenic concentration in breastfeeding mothers using multivariate
regression modeling.
 Master thesis in Early Childhood Development used mixed methods research to
explore disinclination among children in Grades 1 and 2 to attend school and
related factors.
 Winner of the 2006 World Bank Development Marketplace award for piloting the first
mHealth project in Bangladesh.

 Developed and taught Global Health Methods, Global Health Data Analysis,
Introduction to Global Health courses in Post Graduate and Undergraduate Global
Health courses in the USA
 Developed and taught courses on Quantitative Research Methods, Epidemiology and
