To Whom It May Concern:
I have worked with Mitul Patel, a graduate student in the department of Computer Science,
College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University, since July 1,
2015. Mitul was hired at the recommendation of a fellow student who initially worked on our
project and by Dr. Ala Al-Fuqaha, with whom I am partnering to develop a mobile app for use in
the healthcare industry.
Below are some of the accomplishments Mitul achieved during his six months, working under
the supervision of Dr. Al-Fuqaha:
1) Development of GAS Version 1.0, a demo web-application with all working functions by
mid-September 2015
2) Development of GAS Version 2.0 by October 31. Based on user feedback during beta testing,
functionality changes continue to require ongoing modifications.
3) Creation of iPhone and Android applications.
Mitul has worked tirelessly on app development since joining our team. He transitioned
smoothly in taking over functional and design improvements and has assisted me in creating
training videos as well. Mitul led app training sessions for most of our OT teaching clinics and
worked individually with students as well who encountered initial challenges in using the app.
Although he is now working on a new project that provides him even greater challenges, he
continues to mentor our new student and has made himself available for any questions or
development needs. He is enthusiastic and conscientious, and his professional behavior is
commendable.
