 What happened to remove harmony from Creation?
 Temptation and sin
 God needed to punish the sinners

 People were no longer able to see God’s wisdom in
creation
 Difficulty understanding “the book” of creation

3. Restoring Harmony
 What is needed to restore that harmony?
 The presence of Jesus
 God chose to send us his Son AFTER the Fall
 “The summit of creation is the Incarnation”

4. Ways Jesus Restored
Harmony to Creation
 “Enflesh[ing] the divine.”
 “God was made visible as a part of Creation.”
 “…Revealed the hidden language of creation in his
divinised humanity.”
 “To know Christ is to rediscover the language of
Creation.”

5. Franciscan Understanding
 Through his “life of prayer and penance,” St. Francis
of Assisi was able to see Creation in its original
state of harmony.
 BUT, this “anticipated state of redemption” resulted
in his stigmata.
