2. Company Introduction :
Since 2004, the ERA has been collecting and repurposing electronic and IT
equipment. The ERA has reduced landfill e-waste by several thousands of tones
over the years and has donated heavily to many community groups, charities
and other not for profit organizations.
The ERA pioneered e-cycling in the province, years before government
programs were even considered, and continues to this day in leading the
industry through service and innovation. Not only was the ERA one of the first
to recycle and reuse electronics but they have done it to this day without any
help or assistance from any government tax funded programs.
ERA’s commitment does not just end in Calgary, but with offices in Edmonton,
Vancouver, Toronto and Croatia with a nation wide logistical/handling capability.
3. Vision & Mission Statement
Vision Statement
To foster a better community by reducing electronic waste and enabling the
non-profit sector achieve excellence by providing for its IT needs through the
donation of usable and relevant equipment.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to reduce electronic waste and the negative impact it has on
our environment, reuse unwanted computers and related electronic
equipment through recovery and refurbishment, and to recycle refurbished
computers and equipment through donation to charities and non-profit
community organizations.
4. ERA founder and current President Bojan Paduh and his family came to
Calgary in 1996 from Croatia after having their two homes confiscated during
the war. A gift of a used laptop helped Bojan learn English and computer and
business skills. His desire to return the gift of computers to the community
lead him to establish the ERA.
As such, the ERA is highly committed to continuing those examples of
community benefit and empowerment through the ecological and secure
management of outgoing commercial and residential electronic and ICT

Aunt Leah’s Place helps prevent children in foster care
from becoming homeless, and mothers in need from
losing custody of their children. Aunt Leah’s Place
considers ERA an important philanthropic corporate
partner. ERA is a company that understands that
children that have been removed from the family home,
often due to abuse or neglect, deserve an equal
opportunity to access technology in order to further
themselves.
Aunt Leah s Place, Jan 2013
People living with serious mental illness often feel
isolated and marginalized by their own community. With
ERA’s donation, clients feel that they have been
connected to the wider world and therefore are a part of
their community and city in a way they haven’t
experienced before.
