The Medical Platoon is an organic element of the Light Infantry Battalion that provides medical support and is overseen by the Iraq Ministry of Health. The Medical Platoon consists of a headquarters, evacuation squad section with 4 ambulance teams, a treatment squad section at the battalion aid station, and a combat medic squad section attached to maneuver companies.
