6. でしょう
•Using 「でしょう」 to express a fair amount of certainty (polite)
•「でしょう」 is used to express a level of some certainty and is used to mean ‘probably’.
•It does not have any other conjugations. You can also replace 「~ですか」 with 「~で
しょうか」 to make the question sound slightly more polite and less assuming by adding a
slight level of uncertainty.

7. きっと、たぶん、もしかしたら
• These adverb indicates that the speakers probability.
• きっと is often used with でしょう and shows that the speaker is quite certain about
what it is said.
• あしたはきっと雨でしょう。
• It will undoubtedly (almost certain) rain tomorrow
• たぶん is often used with でしょう or と思います
• This indicates less probability than きっと
• ミラーさんはたぶん来るでしょう。
• I guess (most probably) Mr Miller will come.
• 山田さんはこのニュースをたぶん知らないと思います。
• I think guess Mr Yamada doesn’t know this news.
• もしかしたら often used with かもしれない to indicate less possibility of some events
happen
• もしかしたら、3月に卒業できないかもしれません。
• There is a possibility I might be unable to graduate in March.

11. ほうがいい
•This expression is to give advice or suggestion. Depending on the situation, this
expression may sound like you are imposing your opinion on the listener.
•毎日運動したほうがいいです。
•it is good to do some exercise everyday.
•お風呂に入らない方がいいですよ。
•You had better not take a bath.
•日本のお寺が見たいんですが…
•じゃ、京都へ行った方がいいですよ。
•じゃ、京都へ行ったらいいですよ。
•Compare the two answers.
•This illustrates a situation in which a simple suggestion is given. In such cases, ~たらい
い is used. ~たほうがいい implies a comparison and a choice between two things even
if it is not expressed in words.
when used in suggestion,

東京に行ったら、スカイツリーを見た方がいいですよ。

日本でいろいろなところに行きたかったら、ジャパンレールパスを買っ
ておいた方がいいです。
(お金を)節約したかったら、ユースホステルに泊まった方がいいです。
13. 何か、どこか、だれか、いつか
