FORTALEZALocated in the north east corner of Brazil,Ceará is the Brazilian State nearest
to Europe and North America.With more than 3 million people,Fortaleza is the
fifth largest metropolitan area in Brazil.
It has been one of the most popular destinations for Brazilian tourists for decades
and has been attracting more and more international travellers from South
America and Europe.
With the recent boom in the tourism trade,Fortaleza saw a spike in the number
of hotels.Significant investments,both by Brazilian and international groups,
have built one of the most modern infrastructures of hotels in the country.
It is without question the smartest,most attractive,major city in North-East Brazil

German Airport Operators FRAPORT gained concession rights to manage Fortaleza´s

CUMBUCO is a small coastal village (year-round population:2000) with a laid-back atmosphere,
only 30 minutes from the international airport at Fortaleza.Its spectacular sand dunes and miles
of palm-fringed beaches are legendary.The town is internationally renowned for water sports,
an Eldorado for surfing enthusiasts,including wind and kite-surfers.The sun shines all year
round and the average temperature is 28 degrees.
The town has restaurants bars,a pharmacy,a medical centre,and plenty of shops,including
a supermarket:the infrastructure and the town itself are growing rapidly.
PECEM PORT and INDUTRIAL COMPLEX
Pecem is the biggest off-shore hub port and industrial complex of its kind in South America. It´s located 56kms north of
Fortaleza and recently gained status as a free trade zone with steel works,oil refinirey,cement plant,wind farms,
food,and metallurgy,undergoing a 3 billion USD expansion The industrial complex and port have a combined area
4,271 hectares.There is 80% tax exemptions for import production.
Strategic ventures have included Petrobras oil refinery expansion,a new steelworks plant (inaugurated in 2016-see above)
and a 100 hectare site was designated this year for Chinese petroleum companies within the free trade zone.
These developments have generated billions of the dollars in internal investment over the past 5 years
and expansion is set to continue for the coming years.
Although out of sight and downwind,Cumbuco is the closest beach resort to this mammoth industrial complex and can only
benefit from its continued expansion in the form of luxury resorts,private residences and tourism,entertainment facilities.
