5. How to configure
Start by deciding on your domain name
Select a logo to use for the top of login page:
A transparent logo no larger than 250x125 pixels
fits best.
More than likely, you can pull a transparent logo
directly from your org website.
Pick a color to use for the login page
background
Determine what content to display in the right
window on the login page
7. Step 1 – Register Domain
Setup | Domain Management | My Domain
Select a sub-domain and verify availability
Note: Once set, it can never by changed
Click [Register Domain] to start the process.
Registration is generally complete in a few
hours
8. Step 2 - Customize
Once the new domain is available, click the
[Edit] button to configure the login page
New with Summer ’15! The login page can now
be customized after the new domain is registered,
but before it’s deployed to your users

Select the logo that
appears above the
Username and
Password fields
If you don’t have a
transparent image,
use a free tool such as Paint.net to
create/modify a logo to convert the
white background into a transparent
background.

The “Right Frame
URL” can be the most
challenging part.
Leave it blank to display the standard Salesforce
content
Or, enter a URL that starts with HTTPS and has
content that fits within the window size of 390x478

13. Deploy to Users
Finally, after your login page has been configured,
simply click the [Deploy to Users] button to
activate the new URL for everyone.
Once deployed, by default all users are redirected
to the new URL after logging in – even if they login
via at generic login.salesforce.com page.
Email all your users to notify them of the new login
URL.
Note: All bookmarks to the old URL will still work
unless you explicitly check the box that says
“Prevent login from https://login.salesforce.com”
14. Why Configure a Logout Page
Summer ‘15 now supports redirecting standard
Users to a custom page after logging out of
Salesforce.com.
Some possible use cases for enabling this:
Display a legal notice upon logout
Encourage adoption by displaying a nice
message/image such as “Thank you for keeping
your Salesforce.com up to date”.
Redirect the user to another common Intranet
page such as SharePoint, Google Apps or
Outlook Web Access

Test out your custom domain and login page in
your Sandbox first.
Work with your marketing department or web
manager to obtain quality images for your
organization.
Update the content in the right frame regularly
and/or use an application to dynamically
change the content
