Backstory
During a recent move, one of our clients Firewalls would not
restart. Since it was under warranty, the manufacturer would
send a replacement within 24 hours . But that was not would good
enough since it would jeopardize the setup, and testing of the new
network. Within in 2 hours we provided temporary Firewall from
our data center, and were back on schedule, and the move
completed as planned.
5. 4. Have Plan B and C Ready
O’Toole’s Law: Murphy was an optimist.
Backstory
For a recent professional firm’s move, there was a critical issue with
the telecommunications provider. This problem occurred - AFTER
testing. This would have meant no internet service on the first day
at the new location.
However, as part of our upgraded telecommunications design POP
Technologies included a secondary backup circuit with automatic
failover. The only ones who knew the main circuit was down was
our support desk and the office administrator we reported it to.
That was a close call!
