2. Day-1
Day one beganwithaprocession by volunteersin thevillageandralliedintothestreetstomakethevillagersknow
aboutensuingofthespecialcamp.Latervolunteersstartedthefirstprogrammewith cleanlinesswhich isnextto
godliness.Volunteercleanedthe roads, streets,playground ,nookandcornersofthevillagewheregarbagewas
dumped andcollectedthewaste.Thecollectedwastewas segregatedintosolid,wetandplastic wasteforsafe
disposal.

4. Day-2
On thesecondday volunteerscontacteddoortodoorandconducteda socio-culturalsurveyusinga questionnaire.
Thewholeunitdividedthemselvesinto groupsand collecteddata from theentirevillage.Thedata gatheredwas
tabulatedby allgroupstogetherandanalysis was doneon each issuein thequestionnaireandcouldcomeoutwith
someresultsandpresentedintheform ofa draftdepicting thesocio-culturalstatus ofthevillage.

6. Day-3
On thethirdday,programme officerdemonstratedthepreparation ofwaterharvestingpitsaroundtreesby digging
trenchesandusingmulchingtechniquestofacedroughtconditionsinsummer andalsotoconservewater.Asa
firststepvolunteerscollectedwater absorbingwastematerial formulching, such asdry stemsofsmallplants,saw
dust,coconutbarks, sugarcanepulp,driedcoconutwasteetc,.Laterunitwas dividedintotwogroupsandselected
suitableplaces,dugpitsof3feetdepth and1 and ½feetwidth. Thepitswherefilled withmaterial collectedand
also soil oneafteranotherinlayers makingthelayerswetwith water,whichis known asmulching.Later
volunteersthroughdoortodoorcampaigncreatedawarenesson waterharvesting.

8. Day-IV
Volunteersreachedkothapallicolonyand plantedtreeson eithersidesofthe road.Forplantstosurviveeven in
summer,volunteersusedmulchingandoozingpottechniqueswhereunusedoozingpotswere collected andfilled
with waterarrangingitbesidestheplantonthecushionsmadeby mulching. They also demonstratedthisway of
plantingtreestothevillagersneartheirhousesandconveyedtheimportanceofgrowingtreesforthebenefitof
humankindandconservation ofenvironment.

12. Day-V
On thefifth day,volunteerscleanedtheroads,streets,playground, nookandcornersofthevillagewheregarbage
wasdumpedandcollectedthewaste. They alsodugpitstodisposethewaste safely andadvisedthevillagersto
coverthepits withanimal dungwhich helpsindecompositionsoas touseitasmanureafterdecomposition.
