I started off in the medical records department being responsible for patient’s health
information. I was promoted to the surgical coordinator. Being the surgical coordinator, I am
responsible for managing five doctors’ calendars. I handle their affairs pertaining to surgery
patients. I am also responsible for scheduling all procedures and surgeries for thirteen
cardiologist. I walk the patients through the pre and post-surgery procedures. I am also
responsible for obtaining authorizations for these procedures from the insurance companies.
