I. IN HOPE OF ETERNALLIFE
The Apostle Paul is hoping of eternal life, a life that is everlasting. He did not
focus to the things in this world; he is not disturbed by human pleasures,
human knowledge and carnalities.
To Apostle Paul to have eternal life is better than the life today for he also
believe like what Peter said “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man
as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth
away:” 1 Thus Apostle Paul committed his life to live in Christ telling the
Philippians saints “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”2 And to the
Galatians saints Paul said “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet
not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by
the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” 3 By
living in this standard in Christ, The Apostle Paul also told to the Corithians
saints that “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting
away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and
momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs
them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since
what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”4
II. WHICH GOD
The eternal life that the Apostle Paul is talking about is found only in God. No
human being can give to any man an eternal life. Only God hath the power to
give to man eternal life, thus it is logical to think and believe that only God
can give precise, accurate and exact command for man to believe and obey for
the eternal life God hath prepared.
To know the command of God, man should know the will of God. Jesus
Christ said “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in
heaven.” 5 What then is the will of the Father? Let us allow Jesus Christ
Himself answer the question in saying ““For this is the will of my Father:
Everyone who sees The Son and trusts in him shall have eternal life, and I
shall raise him in the last day.”6 The will of the Father is that we should
believe the Son. Who is the Son? The Son is only Jesus Christ. The Son of the

Father who is Jesus is God for the Father told the son “Thy throne, O
God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy
kingdom.” 7
Let us take heed to the word of Jesus Christ. Jesus said “He that believeth and is
baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” 8
Why then
just believe and don’t be baptized? Why then be lost just because of the hardness of
heart?
“Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the
Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my
flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last
day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my
flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living
Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me
will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your
ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live
forever.” Why then forget and neglect the Lord’s Supper? Why then forsake
the assembly to partake the Lord’s Supper? Did we ever understand that Jesus
suffered for our sins?
III. THAT CAN NOT LIE
The eternal life from God can not lie, means can’t be denied. God can’t lie to
this for God is not a liar.
And even men don’t believe that there is eternal life, still there is eternal life.
The evidence that there is eternal life is so obvious to the honest and humble
man who believes the Scripture as the word of God.
IV. PROMISED BEFORETHE WORLD BEGAN
The resurrection of Christ is strong evidence that there is eternal life. Paul said
to the Corinthians “And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless
and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses
about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the
dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the
dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has
not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also
who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in
Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who
have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of
the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all
will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits;then, when he
comes, those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over
the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority
and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his
feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” 9
A man who ignores that there is resurrection can’t stop the plan of God in
giving to honest souls “eternal life”. A man who is buried, died and
resurrected with Christ through baptism can have eternal life. 10
V. PROMISED BEFORETHE WORLD BEGAN
From the beginning God wants that He is a friend to man. He warn Adam and
Eve “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath
said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.”11 not because
He wanted to hurt them but He loved them. He loves man to the point that He
send Jesus His Son to redeem from falling from sin. Oh how beautiful is the
message that John recorded“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.”12.
The eternal life is already existing before there is the world. It is “ETERNAL
LIFE” because it is from “ETERNAL GOD”.
Now, what are you waiting for? Believe in Jesus Christ13, repent of your sins,
14confess before men that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God15 and be baptized
for remissions of sins16 in such way you can have eternal life in HEAVEN.
