Editor's Notes

Ingela:
So what is Baltic SCOPE?
It is a
a joint collaboration bringing together
all MSP authorities
and
relevant Regional Sea Organisations
in the Baltic Sea Region
Initatives. Previous. Mention also MASPNOSE,AdriPlan, TPEA, etc. as well as other relevant policies and initiatives such as EMODnet, INSPIRE and the MFSD
Achieve cross-border cooperation
Support actual implementation of MSP in Member States – closely linked to national MSP
Deliver added value to ongoing MSP processess by being additional to ongoing tasks
Message:
real planning solutions
for real trans-boundary issues
in maritime spatial planning
and a template for dealing with similar issues elsewhere
Post it:
Input to national MSP
Some common agreement to be taken home to each country
Plans match each other (content not ready solutions)
High level of coherence between countries
Common Roadmap how to solve certain issues
Common understanding how issues can be solved
Applied the ecosystem approach in praxis
Some scenarios
Some realistic solutions
Lots of more experience
Strengthened the network
Broaden the group and expertise
Gathered lots of experiences, exchange of methods and tools
Helped each other in the involvement of stakeholders
Better connection between regional groups and countries
Also other agencies in countries are engaged in the process
Good collaboration Nordregio – SYKE
Framework provided by the application proved to be good
Impact on the environmental status of the Baltic
Objectives / :
alignment of national plans
Recommendations for
implementing an ecosystembased approach to MSP
the use and exchange of data in MSP
the use of the SEA in MSP
institutional stakeholder process in MSP
evaluating the MSP process (transboundary issues)
Regional Sea Organisations & National MSP Authorities in BSR
methods & results filtered into the Baltic MSP process
fostered by the HELCOM-VASAB MSP WG & national MSP
Project set-up.
The two cases:
Common context and framework
Step-by-step approach common solutions found in joint discussions
greater alignment of national plans
Comparative approach general recommendations for cross-border MSP
Particular focus on transboundary process and data (SEA, obtaining data, legends, ecosystem approach) development of a suitable monitoring and evaluation process
Thomas:
Three take-aways:
1.
2.
3. Maritime Spatial Planning ~ many parts of the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region
