2. Here is Alice throwing a pot she thought me how to throw a proper pot; first you have too centre the clay; then make sure that the clay isn't wobbling or moving and is firm. Here is Alice throwing the same pot; here she is trying to get rid of any air bubbles in the clay because otherwise when the pot is fired it could break and smash. What you have to do is pull up on the clay and push down using the side of your hand to push down and the other to keep the pot steady, you may need to do this a few times.
3. After getting rid of the air bubbles in the clay you have to poke your figure in the clay to create a whole whilst doing this you have to pull gently on your figures to make sure the whole is even.
4. Here Alice is showing me how to scrape Off the excess clay to make the pot more even; you can use anything to do this with. Here she has cut open the pot she had made to show me the thickness I want my pot to be; unfortunately she made hers to thick at he bottom, but this is a perfect example to show me because now I know that I have to be careful when throwing the pot about the thinkness.
6. Here I am trying the centre the clay like Alice thought me. I am pushing down on the clay with my right hand to get rid of air bubbles and also to create a level pot.
7. Here I am creating the whole in the middle of the clay to create a pot just like Alice showed me. Here I am pulling my figures apart the make the whole for the pot bigger, I had to be careful not to pull to hard otherwise the clay would break and the pot would be ruined.
8. Here I have made the whole in the centre of the clay and I am now trying to get an even shape for the pot. Here I am trying to get the clay to an even shape and size by using my figures to help mould it into the shape I want and also while doing this pulling upwards slightly on the clay to make the pot taller.
9. And here is my final pot; I took all of my tutors advise and used this to help me make my pot. I think I did a good job in creating this pot because compared to my first attempt, I have come a long way from what I first did. Now I have a pot that actually looks like a pot and not a plate or an ashtray. And also it is not wobbly and toppling over because I learned how to centre it right and how to get the right thickness of the pot to stop those things from happening.
