Self-‐Promotion
Assignment
My
ideal
career
is
to
be
an
assistant
saddle
seat
horse
trainer.
To
be
employed
in
this
career,
my
career
goals
would
consist
of
starting
off
as
a
groom.
From
here,
I
plan
to
work
my
way
up
to
assisting
the
barn
trainer
or
owner
in
training
the
horses.
Eventually,
I
would
want
to
help
show
these
horses
and
have
the
“natural
feel”
to
figure
out
what
is
going
on
with
the
horse
underneath
me.
To
obtain
these
goals,
there
are
many
different
skill
sets
that
I
acquire.
Such
skills
include
communication,
speaking,
persuasion,
negotiation,
active
learning,
and
instructing.
Communication
is
an
important
skill
because
if
there
was
an
issue
with
one
of
the
horses,
I
would
be
able
to
effectively
address
the
situation
to
the
correct
people.
Speaking
is
another
skill
that
relates
to
communication.
I
am
able
to
convey
information
commendably
to
others.
Persuasion
is
a
useful
proficiency
as
I
am
able
to
encourage
people
to
attempt
different
techniques
that
may
be
useful
around
the
training
facility.
Along
with
persuasion
is
negotiation.
Bringing
others
together
and
trying
to
reconcile
differences
is
a
talent
of
mine.
Furthermore,
I
am
an
active
learner.
Understanding
the
implications
of
new
information
for
both
current
as
well
as
future
problem
solving
and
decision-‐making
is
crucial
in
this
industry
in
order
to
deal
with
any
situation
that
may
rise.
Moreover,
I
am
service
orientated
–
I
always
2. look
for
ways
to
help
people.
Instructing
is
another
skill
that
I
obtain
which
is
useful
for
providing
feedback
to
the
head-‐trainer
while
working
horses.
Along
with
these
skill
sets
are
my
strengths
and
weaknesses.
I
am
very
hard
working
and
determined
to
achieve
my
goals.
Being
able
to
pay
attention
to
details
as
well
as
being
observant
is
another
strength
of
mine.
I
also
strive
to
please
people
and
follow
instruction
and
being
told
what
to
do
and
how
to
do
it;
however,
with
this
strength,
is
a
weakness
of
needing
to
be
told
specifically
and
not
wanting
to
leave
room
for
error.
Something
that
serves
as
both
a
strength
and
a
weakness
is
my
tendency
to
ask
a
lot
of
questions.
Nonetheless,
I
would
rather
ask
many
questions
and
be
thorough
than
not
doing
everything
I’m
supposed
to
do.
In
order
to
enhance
myself,
I
plan
to
work
on
my
weaknesses
and
be
more
open
to
change.
Improving
my
strengths
to
make
them
even
better
is
something
I
am
willing
to
work
on.
I
will
also
work
on
my
listening
skills
so
I
don’t
need
to
ask
so
many
questions.
With
these
goals,
skills,
strengths
and
weaknesses
in
mind,
I
feel
that
I
would
be
a
quality
employee
at
a
saddle
seat
barn
as
an
assistant
trainer.
I
have
the
skills
and
mindset
that
would
qualify
me
for
this
position.
Furthermore,
I
keep
an
open
mind
so
I
can
learn
new
things
and
improve
myself
every
day.
