Job Description:
Under the direction of the Section Manager, Facilities Maintenance, or designee, the Facility
Maintenance Specialist ensures in-house garage personnel is performing work in accordance
with preventive maintenance books and supervises work done by outside contractors who
performs contract maintenance and repairs.
This position is required to be available on-call 24/7 for facility emergencies. Work is performed
in a professional office environment, at garages, and at other facilities, including sites under
construction. Local travel is required.
Duties:
• Inspects work by contractors to ensure compliance with scopes of work and repair orders.
• Processes work orders and follows up on quoted work. Reviews, schedules, and
prioritizes contracted maintenance activities.
• Inspects buildings and mechanical systems, bus wash systems, and troubleshoots
problems.
• Ensures internal maintenance procedures are followed.
• Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• Must have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license and a safe driving
record, and 6-9 years of mechanical, building automation systems, diesel tanks, and
building construction experience and vocational training in blueprint reading, system
refrigerant recovery and electrical theory, and a good work history.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook, proficiency with Oracle is
preferred.
2. • Must have good written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal,
organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to climb ladders, stand on roofs, stand for extended periods of time, and
work on properties that are under construction.
