2. Cricket is a sport which was first invented by the English in the late 18th
century. Although there are different rules for other sports, but in cricket, the
rules are one kind of law. Most of these laws were written in the nineteenth
century on a playground called Lord’s in London; That is why Lords is called
the “Home of Cricket”.

3. The Origin Of Cricket
Many people think that cricket started in 1877. But the game of cricket did not start in 1877.
It was introduced in the seventh century. In the Indian subcontinent, there was a game called ‘Bat
ball’.There residents of the Doab area of the Punjab region introduce a game called ‘bat ball,’, which
was similar to cricket. Towards the end of the 8th century, the game spread through the people of
the Doab region of Punjab to Persia.
After the eighth century, towards the end of the ninth century, people living in the desert of
Indian territory left the region and went to Turkey. The game with them also spread to Europe.In
1183, it is known from the writings of Joseph of Exeter that after the conquest of England in the
year 1066, the Normans started playing cricket for their entertainment. Cricket is spread by them.
They named the game as (Creagh) or (Cricke) and the game was held only on Sundays during a
week.
4. The dark age of cricket
In 14th century everyone was addicted to conquering the state.But there were not enough
soldiers to fight because of cricket.So the King Richard II(1367-1400) of England banned
cricket in England. At that time, if anyone violated the rule and played cricket, he would be
severely punished.
Cricket regained its popularity after the 15th century. The game that was known as (Creagh or
Cricke) before 1500 AD became known as (Crickett or Crickette) after 1600 AD. Cricket was
still banned there, but the people of Europe continued to play cricket with the unwritten bans.
Then gradually the game of cricket became more popular
5. The Advancement Of Modern Cricket
Modern cricket was introduced in 1721 by the East India company. However,
cricket did not become completely modern before 1744. In 1744, various rules
of modern cricket were enacted and cricket was played according to that rules.
Currently, cricket matches are being held according to 42 rules.
6. First International Match
Cricket has been played internationally since 15 march, 1877. England and
Australia played the first international Test match.Though England is
mentioned as the father of cricket Although Australia won the first Test match.
Gradually cricket began to improve.
To fix the rules and regulation of Cricket the Imperial Cricket Conference was
formed in 1909. In 1956 ,the term Imperial was changed to the ‘International
Cricket Council'(ICC), which is more famous as ICC.

8. One Day International Cricket
In the beginning, Test matches lasted for a long time and so there was no specific
calculation like now.There were a lot of spectators to watch the match then. At this

almost stopped.With this, there was a commotion between the organizers and the
spectators and at the same time the spectators of cricket started decreasing.

day internationals began with England vs Australia in early 1981.Australia won the first
international match.
9. One Day World Cup
The highest Society of cricket (ICC) thought to organize a tournament with all
the cricket playing countries together.From that thought the first World Cup
was held on June 7, 1975 in England. Almost 8 countries were participated in
the first one day worldcup.
The The West Indies played Australia in the final.The West Indies won their
first World Cup by defeating Australia by 17 runs in that match.
10. Twenty-Twenty Cricket
In the 21st century, the popularity of cricket has suddenly declined. In the early 2000s,
a British TV network company commissioned Stuart Robertson to conduct research to
find the cause of the problem.The research have shown that the spectators lose their
focus due to the long duration of cricket.Robertson then planned a short-length
format.
In that match each team will get a chance to play only 20 overs, and the time limit for
the whole game will be less than 3 hours. His proposal became very popular. This
new version of cricket is called Twenty20 or T20 cricket for short.
11. Twenty-Twenty Cricket
The first Test match of the T20 was played at the Home of Cricket
Lord's.Then in 2005 the first ever International Twenty20 match in the history
of cricket was played at Auckland Eden Park in New Zealand between New
Zealand and Australia.
12. T20 world Cup
In 2007,The first T20 World Cup was
hosted in South Africa.
India defeated Pakistan in the final and win
the T20 World Cup for the first time.
