Life of Basketball
I like basketball that’s my favorite sport.
Playing basketball helps you learn new stuff
about basketball. When I first was playing
basketball I
didn’t know
what it was
like but in the
middle of the
year my coach
helped me and
it was the best.
Our coach fussed at us to help us get better. Our team’s
name is Holt Ironmen Ballers. This is how I’m going to end my
brothers my friends they all helped me in my basketball life.
I played basketball for five years. I love all of my teammates
and my coaches.
My coach’s names are coach Moore and
Coach Long. Basketball makes me happy
and proud. I am proud of my team because
we worked together. We went through bad
times and good times

Holt ElEmEntary
Our journalism class is very fun. It takes smiling and
participating in the fun writing and photography. I,
Chylynn Washington, learned a lot about journalism and
photography.
My favorite thing about journalism is learning more
things about journalism. We did newspaper layouts, pho-
tography, and wrote stories.

Games with Ayanna
My friend plays
Wii. Her name is
Ayanna. Ayanna likes
to play her Wii. Her
mom wants Ayanna
to play her Wii be-
cause she might want
some peace and quiet.
Ayanna likes to
play at her house and
at Jaliyah’s house.
There are many
games and jokes you
can hear and see on a
game like Mario Kart
or even Super Mario
Brothers.
You can play on
a PlayStation and a
computer or even a
phone. Games are
sometimes important
so if your mom wants
privacy you will leave
her alone with a room
and you with a Wii.
Some kids play
because they get to
exercise while play-
ing. This is Taleah
with “Games with
Ayanna.”

7. A Day in the Life
at Holt Elementary
7
Boost Your Day with a Little Activity
Boost is a special
day when we get
to go to a differ-
ent teacher. We do
different things with
different teachers.
Students pick
three things they
like and check it off.
They send them to
Mrs. Jay and she
picks one of the
things you picked.
After, she gives
the number, name,
and what the teacher
is teaching you. I
got picked to be in
stepping.
Gift and Gourmet
Spring Fundraiser
Holt is hosting Gift and Gourmet
spring fundraiser. Holt students are
selling things to people in the Holt
community.
It began on March 4 and ended
March 18. We go to places to talk to
people to buy things out of the Gift and
Gourmet spring fundraiser
HES Fashion
Holt Elementary is not the best when it comes to fash-
ion. I want my school to be appropriate and teen looking.
I’m talking about expensive shoes and clothing.
Ariyanna King has cool clothing. Some people wear
plain old clothing.
A 5th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Stevenson is a 5th grade teacher. She
has two kids and she is married. She teaches at
Holt Elementary.
She teaches like a middle school teacher. She
will be a great teacher for anybody. Liyah agrees
and said to me, “You’re right DD because she’s
been my teacher since 4th grade.”
When Liyah said that I went to ask Mrs. Ste-
venson about herself and she said that she likes
eating seafood and she’s the only woman in the
house who cooks.

second quarter Auburn

up. Alabama got lucky
and got a touchdown.
The score was 21-21.
It was the third
quarter Alabama and
Auburn were not mak-
ing any points. Then
Auburn went wild. They
played tight defense
again.
In the end of the
fourth quarter Auburn
ran all the way back
from the other side and
scored the last touch-
down in one second. At
the end the score was
27-21.
Zay, A True Baller
Zay is a basketball player for Holt High School. He
is a center for Holt. He is smart when he plays.
He is strong and quick. He jumps really high to
dunk the ball. He is a good leader on the court and off
the court.
Time Well Spent
As teachers and mentors it is our vision that all of
the children we come into contact with should leave our
classrooms better students and more confident individ-
uals.
We are so proud of all that our students at Holt Ele-
mentary School accomplished throughout this semester
in the journalism program. Thank you for enriching our
lives with your creative minds and special talents.
