To Whom this May Concern:
Matthew Carter interned with Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) Nutrition Services Department
from May to November 2014. He worked with the Nutrition Education Obesity Prevention Branch grant
funded through the United States Department of Agriculture. During this time, he proved to be
dependable and trustworthy. When given any task, Matthew completed it in a timely manner.
The grant requires population data collection, and Mr. Carter was essential to this process by collecting
data cards and inputting information into the online database. He proved to be organized and dedicated
to the task at hand.
Matthew also assisted other Nutrition Services staff with various tasks such as organizing manager
books, researching information on local school wellness policy, and providing nutrition education
material through Champions for Change at community events. Mr. Carter proved his commitment to the
mission of RUSD Nutrition Services by not only understanding the importance of feeding the students
but empowering the families to make healthy lifestyle changes through healthy eating and physical
activity. Matthew will be a great asset to your team. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rodney K. Taylor
Director, Nutrition Services
